This made me laugh.

Now, I don't usually advocate violence, but sometimes there are extenuating circumstances 😉

Today, I’m reflecting on just how deeply grateful I am for dance.

When I was a dancer, the studio was my safe space. We were told to “leave it at the door.” The daily stress of life wasn’t welcome inside those walls. And on the days when the burden was too heavy to drop, I could dance it right out of my system—Grey’s Anatomy style.

Now that I’m no longer dancing, the theatre has become my sanctuary. Watching dance fills me with a joy like nothing else. It moves me, lifts me, and reminds me of the strength and beauty in this art form.

Just a few days ago, my city faced a terrible tragedy. I wondered if some of my friends would still attend their dance competition. They did—and I watched in awe as they took the stage with heavy hearts. Their performance was raw, beautiful, and brave. And when it ended, I knew that some healing had taken place—not just for them, but for everyone in the audience.

Dance has a way of doing that. It transforms pain into expression, grief into grace, and movement into meaning.

Happy International Day of Dance everyone. ❤️
