Thanks to Watershed Magazine for their recent feature on Fifth Town Films. Grateful to be able to share the names of just a few of the locals who helped out on the film in some way. Plus the really nice words were penned by our lovely neighbour Janet Davies, and the wicked snap by the equally lovely Johnny CY Lam

RE: Drifting Snow.. unfortunately the film’s release date is.. drifting. All of our screenings are cancelled and will hopefully be re-scheduled when theatres open again. Meantime, we still have a Kickstarter going, where you can pre-order a digital copy of the film here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1748345885/drifting-snow-help-get-this-independent-feature-finished
Little things like this really help us in the face of lost screening revenues and an even somehow more uncertain cinema landscape than ever before.
Stay safe and be well. Thanks for your support in any way, as always!

Sadly, the Kingston Canadian Film Festival was cancelled this weekend because of COVID-19. Thank you to everyone who bought tickets and intended to come–we were really looking forward to you seeing Drifting Snow today... On a positive note, as you've probably seen, we just launched a crowdfunding campaign this week to cover the costs of production. Through the campaign, you can buy tickets to our screening in Picton May 7/8/9 at the Regent if you still want to see Drifting Snow on the big screen. You can also pre-order a copy of the film. We thank you for your continued support and hope everyone washes their hands and does what they need to do to feel safe!

For the past year and a half, ourselves and an amazing group of people have been immersed in an important project. We are so moved that finally, today our efforts can be shown to the world. One of the most important aspects of working on the Heritage Minutes is that we are able to highlight parts of Canadian history that are often overlooked, often ugly. The Deportation of the Acadians saw over 10,000 Acadians ripped from their homeland by the British. The effects of it can still be seen to this day, and it is a story that is still, sadly, very relevant. But Acadian cultures continue to thrive in the Maritimes and around the world, and they are a proud part of our heritage.
Thank you to our team, many of whom are Acadians themselves. This Minute would not exist with all your contributions!

The amazing Stewart Jones Painting painted one of our favourite rural county landscapes, to use in an art party scene at the amazing Mad Dog Gallery. And the lovely Rebecca Hunt was the film’s field producer, keeping everyone warm and our bellies full of food and laughter. ☺️
