We do what we can to not turn away projects for financial reasons. It can be hard to scrape up the cash to make a record, and with so many ways to make one these days it feels limiting to designate one price for everything. That being said, sometimes it’s nice to not have to worry about the money at all—no tracking hours, no adjusting goals if something takes longer or shorter than anticipated—just set and forget, and do the thing.

If that sounds like you, we got you. Send us a message and we’ll be happy to help you out.

⚠️Important note for all our mastering clients!⚠️

The ‘run-time’ model for pricing has been a blessing and a curse over the years. Somewhat uneven and easily exploited, I felt it was time to move into a ‘per song’ model. I’ve lowered the cost of singles, and, similarly to the other flat rates, added increasing discounts depending on the amount of songs in the project—I’m still a sucker for incentives.

This will only apply to recording projects booked from now on. Any pre-existing agreements, or agreements with our partners, will remain unaffected.

Thank you for such a great year! We worked on some of our favourite projects to date this year, and can’t wait to say that again in 12 months. To bigger, better, and kookier things! 🥂

NEW RELEASE: Don’t Try -

This 5-song EP follows a conceptual thread—a conversation happening during end times. Characters within the record are faced with a dying world, asking themselves what’s worth hanging onto and what needs to be left behind. It’s an album of personal growth, lifting the veil on some of the white lies we tell ourselves to get through the day, ultimately realizing it’s not what, but who we hang onto that matters.

Produced, recorded, and mixed by Stefan Jurewicz (except the drums on tracks 2, 3, and 5 recorded and performed by ), and mastered by .

NEW RELEASE: Oh, The Country Air! -

Our first release with Unsociably High as a KMR Artist! A record that brings to mind living-room jam sessions with friends and family, falling in love, and throwing it all away. Originally intended as a demo project for their Patreon subscribers, this one quickly became one of the most intensive projects we’ve done to date, asking questions like “can we tune a jug to Bb?” or “can we make a continuously moving backdrop for our puppet show?” Brendon and Tiff’s willingness—scratch that—eagerness to experiment made for yet another incredibly fun, whimsical, and devastating record all in one.

Head to .ca today between 6-10pm for a deeper look into the making of this record, as well as an art installation from guitarist titled “Life In Boxes.”

NEW RELEASE: Blue Eyes -

When Just Fine showed up on my radar, I could’ve sworn they were a t-shirt brand. I’ve never seen one band’s merch worn by so many people onstage, and after hearing their EP for the first time I understood why.

“Blue Eyes” was introduced to me as “the song everyone gets the most excited about” whenever they play it live, and I’m still reeling a little that they chose me to record it. It’s a fairly raw production, and for someone who loves a dense mix it was really interesting to find myself leaving ideas behind because the song didn’t need them.

Huge thank you to and for engineering the track. It’s been a dream of mine to produce a track with another engineer, and I couldn’t have asked for a better partner on this project.

Check out these kooky kactuses, designed by for the . Originally one cactus made of sonopan insulation, graciously took the crumbling, scratchy mess and replaced it with four wooden ones of various sizes before Jess painted them in the fun patterns seen here.
