Berlin is only half way through and it has already been epic. I am so proud to say I won for best epic portrait. The talent in this room is incredible, and I just love seeing old friends and meeting new people every year.

Berlin, arrived. Can’t wait to see what has in store! so excited to hear your perspective. I come bearing gifts.

Today in prep for speaking at the elemental workshop, hosted by at .peaches.and.cream I decided to dig through all my gear.
I found;
1. A camera I legit did not know, I owned!
2. My Pentax K 1000 film cam
3. The first photo I ever took of Venice (this one)
So what I’m saying is, there will be an upcoming fire sale of camera gear, it’s time to shoot more film and I miss Italy.

Sometimes a dance party turns into a dust storm, and it’s all ok by me.

I so love the people I get to work with! right before this shot happened (a definite new fave) Lauren said “tell me Janine, I want your vision.” LOVE it! Not sure there are better words for a photographer to hear, a licence to create.

I normally don’t share award wins or nominations, I’m sure that says something deep about about my psyche - but that will have to wait for another day. The reason I wanted to share this one is because of the incredible winners and nominees for these awards. When you’re in company like this it’s easy to feel like you’ve made it.
