FYI...It is important to know that if you are an owner or investor of a rental property and plan on leaving the country, what your responsibilities are regarding filing the taxes on your rental property.
Non-residents of Canada are required to pay taxes on all rental revenue. CRA has two programs for non-residents to claim/submit tax to CRA. They are the NR4 and NR6 programs.
Being a non-resident is not the same as a being a Canadian Citizen. A person can be a Canadian citizen but also be a non-resident.
