This past Sunday, from curated a space and lineup that transported everyone in attendance.

As a performer I was taken aback by the ambience of the room, the support and enthusiasm from the audience, and the talent I witnessed. It was unreal to be in the spotlight alongside the power and energy that and convey.

When I got the memo that this night would be an opportunity to try out new material, I didn’t know what to expect, nevertheless Chris McGuire (keys) and (percussion) helped me lean into it with this rendition of Blue, an original of mine and ‘s that was originally a soul-pop single. You both transformed it into something that I never could have imagined.

I’ve sung this song countless times, but Friday at the .oat hit differently.

With everything happening in Venezuela and Cuba and the world, the words felt heavier. I had goosebumps as the band played the first chords and I dedicated it to friends in the room, to my husband and my in-laws, and to anyone holding on to a bittersweet glimpse of hope and relief.

Nothing lasts forever. Change is gonna come, oh yes it will ✊🇨🇺🇻🇪🤍
