Reality: Breastmilk fat quantity and overall quality is consistent among most mothers around the world. Of Course a good diet is better for the mother and baby, however, the diet does not have to eat a very high calorie diet to make enough milk. An average healthy and filling diet is more than enough.
Women have been making more than enough great quality milk for thousands of years. They have made amazing milk through famines, wars, extreme physical strain and so much more.

Reality: Breastfeeding is not supposed to be painful at all unless the baby has tongue tie or your breastfeeding position is wrong. It is circulated across generations that breastfeeding is supposed to be painful, but it is NOT.

Reality: Breast size has no effect on the breastfeeding amount AT ALL. Even slim women can make a full milk supply and continue to do this today.
Women who are overweight are LESS likely to make enough milk, and not more. Remember, your body is MADE to breastfeed, don’t let these misconceptions mislead you.

Reality: 97% of mothers make enough milk for their kids. Only 3% of women can’t make enough milk for their kids and they usually have medical issues like thyroid problems, hormonal issues, or others.
Many women don’t know one simple fact: to make enough milk, you have to ask your body to make it. How do you ask your body to make it? By letting the baby ask the mom’s body by suckling very very frequently.
Moms can only make enough milk for their baby, IF and only IF they breastfeed VERY VERY frequently the first few days from the moment of birth.
But do most moms breastfeed frequently upon birth? No. Most moms doubt their milk supply, will only breastfeed a few times a day, and perhaps be told to give formula as their milk is not enough yet. THIS is where the problem lies.
MANY are told to give formula until the milk comes in on day 5 or 6.
This doesn’t make sense, because it’s like waiting for a product delivery from Amazon that you never made. It simply won’t happen.
Fast forward to day 5 or 6, the milk supply that comes in will be very low. Why? Because the mother didn’t let the baby ask enough by suckling very frequently.
Historically, many women forgot about this fact, and they started to believe that their bodies simply don’t make enough milk. This started circulating from one mom to the other, and one generation to the other. This made MANY moms believe that the likelihood of them making enough milk is quite low.

Here are the signs that could ensure your baby is getting enough milk:
1. Your baby did not lose more than 7% of their weight in the first week of birth. If they did lose more than 10%, consult with your doctor, the only thing you might need is to increase their milk intake.
2. Your baby regained their birth weight by day 14, and keeps on gaining 600-900g per month (20-30g/day) in the first 3 months. After 3 months this slow's down to around 300-500 g per month.
3. Your baby has daily p**p and p*e
4. Your baby’s arms and shoulders are relaxed after feeding, and becomes drowsy/sleepy.
5. Your doctor is not concerned, and assures your baby’s health is optimal.
If these signs are visible then, you should not worry at all and note that this is normal.

Arsenic is now known to be a carcinogen if taken in big amounts, and also is associated with other health diseases such as developmental issues.
This is why rice cereal is not recommended for babies. Many health associations recommend that parents focus on giving kids a variety of food with little emphasis on rice cereal.
Try to choose rice from Pakistan, India, and california basmati rice because they are the lowest in arsenic. Don't forget to soak them and rinse them really well.

Sometimes your baby may be fussier in the evenings and want to nurse more often than during the day. Some babies may want to nurse every 30 minutes to an hour in the evenings. This is normal, and it does not mean your baby isn't getting enough milk. It may just be your baby's way of filling up before a longer sleep at night. Follow your baby's lead, and ask your partner and family for extra help to make evenings easier.
