Today, we are shining the light of ILLUME member and amazing actor Adair Whalen as she gave a sneak peek of her Big Creative Goal at our ILLUME showcase in May!

Adair completed her MFA in International Theatre at Rose Bruford, London as well as training at Jeff Daniels’ prestigious Purple Rose Theatre.

During her time in ILLUME, Adair has been on a journey to strategically create a thriving audition routine that leads to her making her New York theatre debut. Along the way, she booked her first commercial. She also launched a social media series called “Read it Cold.” Check it out at .it.cold on Instagram! Inspired by her love of cold reads, Adair chooses a play, turns to a page, chooses a role - and reads it on camera stone cold, for the first time! First read is what gets posted!

Today, we are shining the light on ILLUME member, seasoned film-and-television producer, content creator, documentary filmmaker, and Managing Partner at One Bowl Productions, Janice Doskey. Janice is sharing her work on her Big Creative Goal at our ILLUME Showcase in NYC this month!

Janice has spent much of her career helping A-list talents like Wes Anderson, John Waters, Jennifer Aniston, and Blue Man Group, bring their unique creative visions to life. During her time in ILLUME, Janice’s Big Creative Goal has been to welcome her writing of poetry back into her life. In the poem she is sharing live on stage, called “Map to Unmarked Places,” Janice explores her journey back home to pen, paper, and her singular creative voice.

Today, we are shining the light on ILLUME member, theater maker, educator, and arts leader Julia Cuppy! Julia’s work connects professional theater, educational spaces, and communities, and she is giving a sneak peek of her ILLUME Big Creative Goal at our ILLUME Showcase in NYC this month!

About Julia: Julia is the founder and president of a nonprofit theatre incubator called “The Loop,” and their mission is to expand the canon of Young Adult Theatre by fostering the development of new works by skilled writers. And at The Loop, these new works are developed not just FOR young people, but WITH them! Young people are active consultants and participants in the development of these new plays and musicals, infusing them with authenticity, credibility, and nuance.
