Side Out Rate
One of the features that was requested by a subscriber was the ability to see at what percentage her team scored when they passed either a 1, 2, or 3. So we created the Side Out Rate metric. You can see the side out rate for a particular match as well as what your cumulative numbers are for the season. Although it may not be something you can coach to, it does provide some interesting insights.

Objectively Evaluating Setters Is Hard.
If you have two setters, how do you tell which one is better? StatVolley can help you with that. With the “Setter Efficacy” feature you can see which setter has a better hitting percentage and efficiency. It also shows you when a setter sets a particular type of set what the hitting percentage and efficiency is.

You can also tell that when a setter sets a specific player a specific type of set how successful that set is to that player.

In the provided image from the first set of Alberta vs Sherbrooke from the 2024 U Sport championship you can see when Sam sets a P15 (high Ball to position 4) they have a hitting percentage of 14% and an efficacy -14%. However, when setting a P12 (Fast Ball to position 4) They have a kill percentage and efficiency of 75%.

Using the “Player Effectiveness by Set Type” feature shows us that when Sam sets a P15 to Isaac his hitting percentage is 25% with a 0% efficiency as opposed to a 100% hitting percentage and hitting efficiency when setting a P12.
