Fibre Fling art show & sale, by the Out of the Box Fibre Artists, is a favourite show to visit and participate in each year. It's pure inspiration. The textures, the colours, the unexpected way materials are used. So often our visitors find the art resonates on a personal level - a memory, a place, a unique perspective. And that's a wrap. Our Impermanence show has officially come down. Many thanks to all who came to see our outdoor art show, and especially to the Arbor Gallery for their amazing support.
All our pieces are intact after 3 months in sun, wind and rain. It's been fascinating seeing what has changed including some fading of colours but not much more. We would definitely do an outdoor show again.

Last week to see Impermanence at the Arbor Gallery. We'll be taking our fibre art back home after this last weekend of September. Sad to see it come to an end. It's been a wonderful experience showing our fibre art outdoors and seeing how it evolves (ever so gently) as a result.

What a great afternoon yesterday as we led a community art project making fabric twine, and now installed at the Arbor Gallery - Galerie Arbor in Vankleek Hill.. A very relaxing 2 hours with lots of chatting on a beautiful September afternoon. This installation will continue to grow as members of the community add to it.
Thanks for the gallery for hosting this event that was part of Culture Days Ontario.

We're excited for Caroline Forcier-Holloway who has a solo show coming up in December at MIFO in Orleans.
She says" I've always been fascinated by rusted/warn objects and the stories they can tell us. I'm studying the intersection between them and patterns they reveal through textile/fibre art. "

Some of our members just keep creating all summer long. Anne Warburton has used the power of the sun to do sun printing onto fabric. A selection of leaves is chosen, as well as paint colours and water, creating some beautiful imprints once the fabric has dried. Can't wait to see what she does with these prints.
