Laptop open. Poolside seat. South Okanagan views in every direction.

Fall is one of our favourite times at Spirit Ridge. The days are still warm, the pace gets a little easier, the vineyards are heading into harvest and there’s something pretty special about this time of year in Osoyoos.

There’s something about the sound of water, a little sunshine and a quiet moment in the hot tubl that can make the world feel a little lighter.

These have been challenging days in our region, and our thoughts remain with everyone affected by the wildfires.

But we also want you to know that Spirit Ridge is open and welcoming guests, locals and visitors alike. And so are so many of our neighbours.

Our wineries are open and pouring. Restaurants are cooking. Tasting rooms, shops and local businesses are welcoming visitors.

During times like these, supporting our local tourism community matters. A wine tasting. A meal on a patio. A weekend away. Even a simple afternoon spent enjoying the South Okanagan can make a difference.

So come for the wine. Stay for dinner. Take some time by the water.

And find your own moment to reset. ☀️💧

With grateful hearts. ❤️

A week ago, we shared that this is our home too, and that when our community needs us, our doors are open.

Today, our hearts are filled with gratitude.

To the wildfire crews working tirelessly on the front lines. To our First Responders, Emergency Support Services teams, volunteers and everyone working behind the scenes to protect and care for our community, thank you.

We know these have been long, difficult days, and we are immensely grateful for everything you continue to do.

We’re also grateful that so many of our neighbours who were evacuated have now been able to return home. There is something especially meaningful about those two words right now: GOING HOME.

At the same time, our hearts are with those who have lost their homes, and with those who remain displaced or have only recently been evacuated as the wildfire continues.

While Spirit Ridge remains safe and well away from the active fire, we are all part of the South Okanagan community, and when one part of our community is affected, we feel it throughout the region.

There is still work to be done. There are still people who need our help.

So let’s continue to show up for one another. Whether that means donating, volunteering, supporting the organizations doing important work, checking in on a neighbour, or simply extending a little extra kindness and understanding.

To everyone working on the front lines to protect those communities, and to everyone who has stepped forward to help, feed, comfort and care for those affected, we are so very grateful.

Here at Spirit Ridge, we’ll continue to do our part in the way we know best - opening our doors and providing a safe, welcoming place to stay for those who need it.

This is our home too. And once again, our community has shown us just how much those words mean. ❤️

Some weekends are about getting out and doing everything. This one might simply be about taking a moment. ❤️

It’s been a difficult week across our South Okanagan community. Many of our neighbours have been evacuated from their homes, and here at Spirit Ridge, we’ve been welcoming some of those families and doing our best to offer a comfortable place to land while they wait.

In times like these, the little things can matter.

An hour of live music on a summer evening.
Meeting a friend for Happy Hour and catching up.
Breakfast by the lake.
A quiet walk along the beach.
A little time outside to clear your head and reconnect.

This weekend, there are a few opportunities around Spirit Ridge to do just that.

🎶 Friday: Live Music at The Public House at Sonora Dunes with Olivia Goncalves
🎶 Saturday: Live Music at The Market with Lewis Cardinal
🍷 Daily: Happy Hour at The Bear, The Fish, The Root & The Berry
☀️ Thursday- Monday: All-day breakfast, burgers & more at Footprints Beach Bar & Grill

Whether you’re staying with us, live nearby, or simply need a change of scenery for an hour or two, you’re welcome.

And to everyone in our community who has been displaced, is supporting friends and family, or is working to keep our neighbours safe, we’re thinking of you. ❤️

This is our home too. ❤️

Spirit Ridge may be a place people come to visit, vacation and get away, but for so many of us who work here, live nearby and raise our families in the South Okanagan, this is home.

And right now, some of our neighbours are going through an incredibly difficult time.

For the past few days, we’ve been working closely with Emergency Support Services to welcome evacuees who need a place to stay.

Our team has been doing what we do best - opening our doors, offering a comfortable place to rest, and doing everything we can to make those who have been displaced feel a little more at home during a very uncertain time. We’re grateful to be able to help.

And we know many of you are asking the same question: What can I do?

If you want to help, we’ve compiled a list of organizations and community resources supporting those affected by the wildfires:

Animal Lifeline Emergency Response Team Society
BC SPCA (BCSPCA)
Central Okanagan Community Food Bank
Community Foundation of the South Okanagan Similkameen
Mamas for Mamas - Kelowna/West Kelowna
Okanagan Indian Band
Penticton & District Search & Rescue
United Way BC

To the firefighters, first responders, Emergency Support Services teams, volunteers, community organizations and everyone quietly stepping up to help a neighbour - THANK YOU!. And to those who have had to leave their homes, our thoughts are with you.

This is our home too. And when our community needs us, we show up for one another. ❤️

Some of the best moments at Spirit Ridge happen before the day really begins. ☕

An early morning coffee from The Market, a quiet seat by the Adult Pool, the gentle sound of the fountain, and the first rays of sunshine reflecting across the water.

Before the tee times, wine tasting, horseback riding, hiking the trails, relaxing at the beach or pool, and everything else the day has in store... there's a peaceful side to the resort that's worth waking up for.

Slow down. Sip. Savour the moment.

What's your favourite quiet morning ritual when you're away? 🌿
