How a Near-Death Moment Reopened Her Story A near-death moment. Buried memories. Music as medicine. And the long journey back to the body. In this episode of The Human OS, STORRY sits down with TIHANE for a conversation about trauma, dissociative amnesia, creativity, nervous system healing, storytelling, and what it means to live from your a...
Thereās something about Joyce that rearranges the way I think about time. Whole chapters can close but it simply means new beginnings⦠and nothing is lost. What I love about her perspective is that she doesnāt treat criticism as a verdict but as information. š¤
At 80 years old (after surviving breast cancer) she went back to school so she could become a better writer. And not because she had something to prove but because she had something to say. š«š„²
My full convo with is out now on The Human OS Podcast š„¹
I got my FIRST EVER guest on the podcast because this woman is too special to walk past! What moved me most about Joyce wasnāt the number of countries shes visited (though 187 is f***ing impressive) it was⦠the complete absence of finality in her. So many of us reach invisible endings.
āIām too old nowā
āThat chapter is closedā
āI should already be further alongā
Joyce seems to have skipped that operating system entirely.
Not because life has been easy, not because the body aging isnāt hard, but because she meets life as if it might surprise her every day.

Never Too Late: The 90-Year-Old Who Made Me Rethink Aging Meet my FIRST EVER guest on The Human OS, Joyce Perrin: a retired hospital CEO who started solo traveling at 56, climbed Kilimanjaro at 65, cofounded a hospice in Panama, gave her first TEDx talk, visited 187 countries, and went back to school at 80 to become a better writer. Her secret? Curiosity,....
I canNOT say this has been an easy š„š„¶ journey. What a š¢ ride. If Iām honest, I was disappointed with the number of eggs retrieved⦠especially because just a few months ago my follicle count was almost double š¤¦š»āāļø Ah yes⦠expectations, my old friend. Fertility has a way of reminding you that so much of this is out of your control.
Bodies body. šš»
Hormones hormone. š§¬
Life lifes š
But am I super grateful to even have the opportunity to do this? Absolutely.
After two rounds though of hormone meds, appointments, needles, emotions, and all the things⦠Iām taking a little pause, some sunshine, and giving my body some love before heading back to ļæ¼ with renewed energy, more savings, and hopefully a few extra +++ follicles. š¤°š»
Ps. Thank you for coming in on Motherās Day to do my procedure. š ur the best!

My TEDx talk is officially live ā¤ļø and seeing the comments, what landed and watching it from their living rooms means the world. This talk is about accepting our darkness - the parts that are in us and the parts that happened to us - and realizing that healing and being human doesnāt fit into a neatly before and after story. The part where you rebuild from negative nothing⦠chase dreams, fall apart againā¦. Get back up for the 187th time and realize that peace doesnāt come from becoming āperfectā or āimpressiveā. Because life doesnāt stay one note and would it be very fun if it did?!
FULL TEDx talk is now on YouTube - link in bio or comment TED and Iāll it to ya.
And if you do watch it - comment so that I know you did and actually love me š, tell me what landed and of course, send it to anyone who might need it. It actually helps a ton. Thanks again for riding with me. š«¶ now go check out my speech.

I beat myself up WAY too much for not doing ALL the things I āshouldā be doing. š¤¦š»āāļø But what if the problem isnāt that weāre bad at consistency? What if the version of consistency weāre trying to force was never built for a human body, a real nervous system, changing hormones, shifting capacity, grief, illness, creativity, or life?
Iām learning that sustainable consistency isnāt about obeying the plan no matter what it costs. Itās about staying in relationship with the commitment without abandoning the person carrying it. Without abandoning being present for our ever changing life and reality.
New episode of The Human OS is out now š šļø Consistency vs Self-Abandonment: The Trap of Ambition. Listen now my friends and let me know what you think. xx

Consistency vs Self-Abandonment: The Trap of Ambition What if the problem isnāt your discipline but the fact that youāre trying to use discipline to solve a capacity issue? In this episode, STORRY explores the difference between consistency and self-abandonment. While navigating fertility injections, hormone shifts, creative pressure, and the deman...
