We’re inviting children ages 3–7 to take part in a research study at Trent University Durham exploring how kids communicate with older adults. Sessions last about 1.5 hours and can be held either on campus (with free parking) or in your home.

Day 4 & 5 at 🧠
Grateful to have been part of the largest global gathering in Alzheimer’s research. As the conference wraps up, we’re thankful for the opportunity to attend insightful talks, explore presentations aligned with our research interests, and participate in ISTAART workshops focused on professional growth. An inspiring few days surrounded by global leaders pushing the boundaries of dementia science.

DAY 2 & 3 at the AAIC 2025
The CHAT lab attended several research sessions such as the talk on sex-specific risk and protective factors in Alzheimer’s disease, sensory and dementia, social determinants of health and a plenary on tau pathology, among others.
Our Chatters attended several ISTAART Intermissions where ISTAART’s PIAs and other professional networks meet peers and engage in focused conversations in key subject areas. Among them being the South Asian Research Association for Neurodegenerative (SARANG) disorders, Comorbidity and Multimorbidity in Dementia group. They also attended several ISTAART workshops like collaborating with persons with lived experience in dementia research and using AI tools in science.
Concluded the day with a networking ISTAART reception.

Pre-Conference and Day 1 at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference 2025
CHAT Lab members Cameron Hart, Sabina Kapoor, Elora Singer and Luke Walker are attending the AAIC 2025 in Toronto with the CHAT Lab Director and Principal Investigator, Dr Raheleh Saryazdi.
As a part of the pre-conference, they attended
1. Assessing and addressing Hearing, Vision and Olfaction in individuals with Cognitive Impairment.
2. Working with the Veterans Administration: Partnerships in Research for Alzheimer’s Disease
3. Technology and Dementia
Dr. Saryazdi presented her research on VRx@home: A Virtual Reality at Home Intervention for Persons Living with Dementia and their Family Caregivers during the data blitz at the Technology and Dementia pre-conference workshop. She also presented a poster on this research at the main conference.
We ended the day with an amazing networking reception organized by AAIC to welcome global researchers to the conference.

The CHAT lab is excited to announce a new collaboration with the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region! We hope that our new intergenerational programming will lead to meaningful change for both students and older adults living with dementia.
