He’s almost 1! 🥹 and he’s given me growth and change in the best ways—opening my heart to a deeper love, not just for him but for myself and our family. He’s uncovered pieces of myself and a brighter light I thought I burnt out a long time ago, allowing me to heal hurt or damaged parts of my past and even childhood. He keeps me so present and so grateful for every moment while filling me with optimism for the future we get to create together.

Here’s to finding strength in every stretch—on the mat and in life 💜

❄️ Pomegranates have been my go-to lately—they’re the perfect winter fruit!

Juicy, refreshing, and full of nutrients that make them amazing for breastfeeding moms.

Here’s why I’m loving them right now:
- They’re loaded with antioxidants that support energy, digestion, and even help improve anemia (a huge win for postpartum moms!).
- Those same antioxidants can pass through breastmilk and support your baby’s gut health, which is such a cool benefit.
- They’re hydrating and nourishing, helping me feel good and stay balanced.

And yes, the seeds are safe to snack on—they’re way too small to cause any issues (you always wanna be supervising an eating baby)

I like to eat them on their own, or use them as a topping for salads and smoothie bowls. Plus, they’re in season, so now’s the best time to enjoy them! What’s your favorite way to eat pomegranates?

Birth Story Part 2: Labor at home

I navigated through the waves of contractions, each one bringing us closer to meeting our sweet Max. But as the hours passed & the intensity of back labor increased, we faced unexpected challenges. Our precious babe was in occipital posterior (OP) or sunny-side-up & his head wedged into my pelvis on an angle, making progress slow and laborious.

A natural & unmedicated labor had been my plan, not to make things harder, not to prove anything to myself or anyone, but to fully & wholeheartedly be connected to my body & my baby as he enters this World. This pregnancy allowed me to feel more connected to my body than I ever have before. I didn’t want to be numbed & disconnected. So I took a breath & said just a few more hours.

My midwife checked for dilation & accidently broke my water. Part of me was happy because I was hoping that the ruptured membrane would help progress labor. But the other part knew if it doesn’t help that it could lead to the cascade of unnecessary interventions..

Despite trying every natural method under the sun & over 30 hours of contractions - I was eager to start pushing but due to his position there was no progression with my dilation and I was stuck with a stalled labor.
