Operating out of Birnam Wood Equestrian (just 10 minutes southwest of Spruce Meadows), Lisa tailors her coaching and training to suit each student’s needs and goals. Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or advanced rider, Lisa offers an intimate, one-on-one experience to allow you and your horse to learn, grow, and develop. Lisa not only teaches you “what,” but also “why.” She will assist you in achieving your goals, whether they be in the show ring, or as a recreational rider.

Currently available for lease or lessons:

“Ace’d it” Ace is a 15-year-old, 14.3 hh bay Morgan gelding, available as a lesson horse, or for half or full in-barn lease. He has consistently shown in the jumper ring for the last 5 years. He is constantly in the ribbons and has taken all of his riders to the next level. His maximum jump height is 0.9m, so he’s the perfect “move up” ride for a youngster coming off a school horse.

“Diego”. Diego is available as a lesson horse, or for half or full in-barn lease. Diego is an 18-year-old, 16.1 hh Canadian Warmblood gelding. He has had a long career in the equestrian world, showing in both the jumper and dressage rings. He would suit a rider who wants to focus on flatwork or dressage,or who is interested in taking him over small jumps.

Wow two full weekends of fun to start off the indoor season!

Lisa D, Hannah, Blair and Ceirra put in some great rounds at the hunter show.

Bev, Kira, Jordan and Sofia had great success at the jumper show.

Congratulations to Lisa and her mare Covergirl on their win at Spruce Meadows on Saturday in the 0.90m! Great way to start the indoor season🥳

Team Highland Ridge had a great week of showing at RMSJ for the June Classic 1.
Emily and Jack of All Trades ended the week 0.75m champions
Bev and Maximillian ended the week as 0.90m division champions
Charlie and Aced It finished the week with some red ribbons in the 0.90m and 0.95m progressive
Lisa and Annabelle has some lovely rounds with a red ribbon in the 0.75m
Lisa and Covergirl ended the week with a 3rd place finish in the 0.95m progressive.

We are so proud of all of you ladies and thank you to the rest of the team for making all of this possible!!

Cierra, Becky and Megan had a fun start to the March RMSJ Winter Training Series Hunter Show. Showing in the Trot Poles and X-Rails this morning!

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of our beloved horse Rico (Ricardo)

Rico passed unexpectedly the evening of December 20th surrounded by barn members that loved him dearly.

Rico came into our life a year and a half ago after he retired from his chuck wagon journey. In the time he spent with us, he blossomed as a wonderful jumping horse. Teaching many of our riders along the way. He created close bonds both with fellow horses and the girls who came to ride him.

Rico was definitely a once in a life time horse. One that will never be forgotten. We will remember how he would sing for his grain. We will remember him galloping in the field with his herd, always making it to the gate first. We will remember how he never figured out how to eat horse cookies, and we will always remember the impact he left on many of us.

We wish you the safest travels across the rainbow bridge Rico. Until we meet again❤️🕊
