We’ve had a few questions lately regarding our operations, and we wanted to take a moment to clear things up!
It has come to our attention that some news reports regarding an organization called "Second Chance Animal Rescue Society" (SCARS) in Alberta have caused some confusion online. Please rest assured that Second Chance Ranch Canada Inc. in Odessa, Ontario, is open, active, and continuing our mission of animal rescue, rehabilitation, and our Beyond the Gate wellness programs.
We are fully committed to our resident animals—like Honkeytonk, Huckleberry, Frank, and Miss Piggy—and we are currently full steam ahead with our upcoming Livestock Music & Craft Festival on August 8th!

Calling all local arborists and tree services! 🪵🚚
Second Chance Ranch is looking for wood chips—whether you have a single clean load or multiple truckloads to clear out!
We are always working on keeping our paddocks, pathways, and animal areas high, dry, and comfortable. Clean wood chips are a massive help to us, and we have plenty of space and easy access for big trucks to dump a load (or more!).
Note: Clean chips only, please (no black walnut).

It’s always a good day when the community steps up for our animals, but today was extra special! 🐾
A huge thank you to the Kingston Community Credit Union for choosing Second Chance Ranch as the recipient of a generous $1,500 donation. These funds go directly toward the care and rehabilitation of our residents, and we couldn't be more grateful for the support.
(Side note: Getting to hold the "BIG" cheque was definitely the highlight of my day! 🏆). Just to return to the farm and find a lovely package left in the mail with dewormers in it! Thank you mystery person
