The Canadian Response Network is proud to have supported another successful Ribstock Festival at Firemen’s Park in Niagara Falls.

Throughout the weekend, our personnel provided event communications, operational support, first aid readiness, and general assistance across the festival grounds. Events of this size require strong coordination, clear communication, and people who are willing to put in the work behind the scenes. Our team did exactly that.

To every Canadian Response Network member who gave their time this weekend: thank you. Your professionalism, patience, and commitment made a real difference in keeping the event running smoothly and ensuring support was available when needed.

We also want to recognize the Ensor Protection team for their work throughout the festival. Their presence, communication, and cooperation helped maintain a safe and organized environment for attendees, vendors, staff, and volunteers. We appreciated the teamwork and the clear working relationship between our teams.

A sincere thank you as well to Jay Robo and the team at Gig Guys Production & Event Services for organizing RibStock 2026 and for trusting the Canadian Response Network to support the event. We appreciate the opportunity to contribute to an event that brings so many people together in Niagara Falls.

Ribstock takes a lot of planning, coordination, and cooperation between many groups. We were glad to be part of that effort and proud to support a safe and successful weekend.

🚨 Alert Ready Test Happening Today

Today, Canada’s Alert Ready emergency alerting system will be tested in several provinces and territories.

Alert Ready is Canada’s national emergency alert system. It is used to deliver critical, potentially life-saving alerts through television, radio, and compatible LTE-connected wireless devices during emergencies such as severe weather, civil emergencies, AMBER Alerts, and other urgent public safety situations.

These tests help confirm that the system is working properly and that emergency alerts can reach Canadians quickly when seconds matter.

According to Alert Ready, tests are scheduled today in:

• Alberta
• British Columbia
• Manitoba
• New Brunswick
• Newfoundland and Labrador
• Northwest Territories
• Nova Scotia
• Nunavut
• Prince Edward Island
• Yukon

Please note: Ontario’s test is scheduled for Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 1:55 PM EDT. Quebec currently has no test scheduled, and Saskatchewan’s test has been cancelled.

This is only a test. If you receive the alert, no action is required. Please do not call 911 for information about the test, as this could delay emergency assistance for those who truly need it.

Staying informed and prepared is an important part of community safety.

What a day at Merrittville Speedway! Our first deployment of 2026 — and our first time working with the Speedway — is in the books, and the Easter Eggstravaganza was a huge success.

Thank you to the Merrittville staff and volunteers for trusting the Canadian Response Network with event safety and communications. And an extra‑big shoutout to Preston Roberts (VA3SFP), Mike Brault (VE3VMB), Jeremy, Johanne, and Crystal for going above and beyond today.

Despite the cold and rain, our team showed up strong. With roughly 6,000 guests attending, your hard work helped keep everyone safe and supported.

Proud of this team and excited for what’s ahead in 2026.
