The 10cm ocean-themed mini masterpiece kits are beginner-friendly and require no previous needlework experience! They are a great way to dabble into a new skill, for both adults and kids alike so are a great gift option to have on-hand for upcoming birthdays or events. The animals kits are a great way to upgrade your skills if you have already done some needlefelting! This year I've developed a fun new Natural Dye workshop, Naturally Dye a Rainbow!

I love rainbows, and it's so much fun to dye them. First you will choose where you want your indigo to be, and where your rainbow will be.

I've dyed up three samples to show you different ways the rainbow can be dyed which you can see clearly on the second image.

The bottom skein was tied so 2/3rds was indigo dyed and 1/3 not, this is my 'standard' rainbow!

The middle skein had 3 resists tied evenly-ish around which ends up with 6 rainbow sections, I refer to this as 'Too Many Rainbows'

The top skein was twist dyed, meaning the yarn was twisted up and dyed, this one is my 'Rainbow Cloud'

You can dye your rainbow any way you wish of course! You will apply ties to your yarn and it'll get dipped in the prepared Indigo Vat, then we'll prepare the extracts for hand painting, and you'll get painting!

They'll be red, orange, yellow, green (which is achieved by overdyeing indigo with yellow) brown, black, and all going well a light pink

Do we have different stock? Yes! We both stock staples like Cascade 220 and Heritage, but we both offer a different range of commercial and hand dyed yarn, more yarn, more fun!

Baaad Rabbits is close to 22nd SkyTrain station, and we have free parking round the back! And yes, you can enter and exit by the back door, look for the blue wall!

Introducing Polly the Octopus from Marvelous Monsters, one of our new books from Ricorumi!

The Marvelous Monster book is fabulous! Nancy is currently making Blob Monster, has her eye on Furry Ball, and we both have our eyes on Romantic Monster! I can't wait to see Nancy's progress!

We also have an adorable bunny and teddy, and a new fishy in store, all off the wonderful Nancy's hook!

It's so much fun making the toys, and there's usually a new one popping up in the store every couple of weeks or so.

A fresh batch of Merino/Cashmere/Nylon DK has landed in store, and online!

12 colours, some customer favourites, and some new!

I'm using FlowerFairy to knit up a shop sample of the Fingerless Gloves skill builder workshop which started last week. We have another Fingerless gloves class scheduled to start Wednesday June 17th, 2 spaces available!

This yarn is dyed to knit up mini stripes in small circumference projects, spirals on hats and cowls, and surprise pooling on shawls and sweaters! It's a lot of fun to work with and I love seeing all the different colour stitches on the needle.
