✨ One of the best ways to experience the New West Indigenous Market is to come with intention.

🧡 Take your time.
🤝 Meet the makers.
💬 Ask questions.
🛍️ Buy directly from Indigenous artists and entrepreneurs.
📣 Share the vendors you discover.
👫 Bring a friend who wants to learn, shop, and support in a meaningful way.

Many artists and makers enjoy sharing the stories behind their work, their creative process, and what inspires them. While everyone has different comfort levels when it comes to sharing cultural knowledge, respectful questions are often welcomed and can lead to meaningful conversations.

There is something special about meeting the person behind a piece you bring home. Whether it's a pair of earrings, a beaded creation, artwork, or a handcrafted gift, knowing who created it and hearing part of its story creates a deeper connection. ✨

The next time someone asks about that piece, you'll remember the artist, where you found them, and the story behind it. Those connections are what make Indigenous markets so special. 🧡

🎉 This year, the New West Indigenous Market celebrates 5 years of Indigenous creativity, entrepreneurship, and community in New Westminster.

We hope to see you there on Saturday, June 6! 🌿

In 2022, this market started as a way to create more space for Indigenous artists, makers, and entrepreneurs to be seen, supported, and celebrated here in New Westminster.🤲

This year, the New West Indigenous Market returns for its 5th anniversary — bringing together Indigenous vendors, artists, performers, food, fashion, and community programming along River Market and the Westminster Quay Boardwalk.👍

For Shop First Nations, this event is close to the heart of our work: helping more people discover and support Indigenous entrepreneurs directly.

If you’re in Metro Vancouver, we’d love to see you there.
