Given my current health, this is as much "action" as you get from an *unboxing* of this month's VIP CRYSTAL Club delivery: a beautiful .
Also, given that I don't use the tickety-tockety thingy, you'll see it here on Insta and Facebook only.
I lost a beloved labradorite stone at the end of November, and since then, four have found their way to me. Each has its own beauty, but this fourth one from has a blue light shining through like none of the others.
💙💚🩵 I hope, if you're looking, you see its beauty.

Write to express, not impress.

In my professional experience, 𝗰𝗼𝗽𝘆𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 is a broad term that includes 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, which itself includes 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 writing.
But not everyone understands it this way so, for clarity, I've broken the two apart.
𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴:
memos, email, corporate newsletters, internal corporate communications, letters to suppliers, clients, colleagues, and more.
Feel free to add to this list.
𝗖𝗼𝗽𝘆𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴:
email, white papers, case studies, catalogue descriptions, newsletter copy, ad copy, web copy, brochure copy, social posts, blog posts, advertorials, packaging copy, long-copy sales page, and more.
Feel free to add to this list.
I've used an 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 to separate the two kinds of writing. But each kind of writing will cross over the line because, when you're in business, everything you write is meant to 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗱𝗲 your reader.
Otherwise, why do you write?
? I'm happy to answer them, no strings attached.
Spot a ? Let me know.

While I typically advocate for plain language, I do LOVE this word and will use it someday. In the meantime, until I find the perfect opportunity, I'll write dog lover.
Thanks for making this word show up in my feed, Merriam-Webster Dictionary!
Where our cynophilists at??

Why?
Why can't I get through a social post without using an exclamation point?
Oh, wait. I did it!
No I didn't.

From a past PRO WRITER TIPS newsletter . . . (two parts)
Sometimes, customers can't (or won't) pay you what you propose. That's okay, sort of. It's okay because there's always a path for everyone to take and end up a winner. Here are two word-use ideas to help you find that winning path for everyone.
TWO WAYS TO FIND A WIN-WIN WHEN CUSTOMERS CAN'T (OR WON'T) PAY YOUR PROPOSED FEE
➡️ WAY #1
I never advise anyone to drop their fees. I do, however, encourage business owners to find out what the customer really needs and then set the fee to that.
Re-propose your offer to what the customer really needs, without the extras, and adjust your fee to that. In my case, if customers want social media support but they don't want to pay my fee for the proverbial "full meal deal," I develop an à la carte menu, where they can pick and choose what they need regarding frequency, scope, and more -- piece by piece. I'll often put together three à la carte options, with the middle one as the most desirable, because, hey, it works.
>> You can start the re-offer with a note like this:
𝙋𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙡𝙚𝙩 𝙢𝙚 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙞𝙛 𝙄'𝙢 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩. 𝙄'𝙫𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙨𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙚𝙚 𝙤𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙢𝙖𝙮 𝙨𝙪𝙞𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙥 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙢𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙡𝙮. 𝙇𝙚𝙩 𝙢𝙚 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙬𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙝 𝙤𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙄'𝙡𝙡 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙮𝙤𝙪.
You get paid. Your customers get what they need. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝘀.

➡️ WAY #2
If your customers don't want a modified agreement, then recommend two or three people in your field you respect, those who can help your customers. This ensures you always leave your customers with an alternative, and never a feeling of let-down or rejection. They will remember you when you attempt to help them further. It also helps you build deeper and more meaningful relationships with your colleagues and collaborators. And, I'm a firm believer in 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.
>> Try something like this:
𝙄'𝙢 𝙜𝙡𝙖𝙙 𝙬𝙚 𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣 𝙖 𝙗𝙞𝙩 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙨𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙮 𝙬𝙚 𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣'𝙩 𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙖 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙛𝙞𝙩. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙜𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙣𝙚𝙬𝙨 𝙞𝙨, 𝙄 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙜𝙪𝙚𝙨 𝙄'𝙢 𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙥 𝙮𝙤𝙪. 𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙬𝙤 𝙄'𝙫𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙙 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙗𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙨𝙩: [𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙩 𝙣𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙘𝙩 𝙞𝙣𝙛𝙤] 𝙂𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙡𝙪𝙘𝙠 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙡𝙚𝙩 𝙢𝙚 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙞𝙛 𝙄 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙥 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙛𝙪𝙧𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧.
No, you don't get paid in cash. But you DO get paid in social and human capital. So you win, your customer wins, and your colleagues win. It's a 𝗪𝗜𝗡-𝗪𝗜𝗡-𝗪𝗜𝗡!
