Finally got a bunch of maple leaf patches ready for the upcoming market on Nov 8th at St Andrew’s, details in the previous post. You can use these to mend or decorate an item. Local, handmade in the Old City Quarter, Nanaimo.

I will have a booth at this upcoming market to sell my upcycled bags, rugs, blanket & patches. We will also have a table for our group ‘Mending Mavens’ with free mending/sewing advice plus fabric & supplies available for a donation to the StAUC building fund. Love to see you there. 😜

Can’t think of a lovelier place to sew. Out on our boat mending the tank top/tunic I inherited from my Mom. I had darned some small holes but it looked blah, so I decided to add some cute patches to liven it up. ⛵️

Not such a pretty mend but very practical, I used tape & lace to keep my magnetic screen door operating for another year. First project since I cracked my arm.
Keeping it out of the waste stream & helping to mend the world one stitch at a time! 🌎

I may not be able to sew or mend right now because of my broken arm, but I can still try & make the right choices on Earth Day & every other day of the year for that matter. 🌎

Unfortunately I’m out of commission sewing for a while, having cracked my radius above the wrist, when I fell at Horseshoe Bay on the way home from Mexico. I wore my upcycled Birmingham University sweatshirts to our Mending Mavens session on Saturday. Patience & planning are my goals now. ☺️

Visiting Puerto Vallarta & found this wonderful store with fabulous textile products made by hand in Oaxaca. We found this beautiful loom in the back of the store & had a very interesting overview of the different methods of weaving & use of the natural dyes on display. So inspiring.
