Non-profits helping non-profits 🤝
Thanks to the Arrow Lakes Historical Society for accepting our donation and hauling away this beautiful map table!
SAR is always modernizing, and many aspects are moving digital (including mapping). We are happy to see this table go to a good home where it will be used.

Huge thank you to Jones Boys Boats for their great work on our ALSAR Rescue Boat!
They’ve done a thorough check and inspection, repairs, and had a very quick turn around so we can be ready to go again if the need arises.
And huge thank you to team member Eldon for transporting it back and forth!

Last weekend, we had three more members certified in Ice Rescue, along with members from Kaslo Search and Rescue. It was a beautiful sunny day on Summit Lake to practice subject rescue scenarios and self-rescue.
Thank you to Shawn Noury for training us!

In the last couple of weeks, our team has been called out twice to rescue stranded or stuck individuals on Halfway Hot Springs FSR.
Although we recognize that this is a favourite spot for winter adventures for many people, this road is not suitable to drive during the majority of the winter season.
When there is fresh snow and warm temperatures, it is almost impossible to make it to the hot springs in a regular vehicle.
Please consider this before you make the trip out, and plan accordingly. And remember, always bring the essentials such as food and water, warm clothes, and a means of communication.
