As everybody who’s been in a band says: the best part is that you become family! And during the recording of this record we also had family with us! Talented Yaretzi Hernandez (film maker from The New School ) directed and filmed for us at Abbey Road Studios along with Anaïs Yeates and Chris Beacom and many others. Our new album is coming up in a few weeks, and you can see a lot of the footage in our Sweet Melodies video available everywhere now.

Sweet Melodies! Our newest single from our upcoming album “The Good Enough Days” is out today. Recorded, mixed, mastered and filmed on location at legendary Abbey Road Studios, engineered and co produced by Paul Pritchard (Noel Ghallager, Charlie Puth, Harry Styles etc), Geoff Pesche (Coldplay, etc) and Vincent Coté.

After 3 years of production, ZAPPIEN will release their newest album in 12 years with a brand new lineup and sound. After the collapse of the band in 2012, Charlie Zappien embarked on a mission to reform the group and create a completely new analog raw sound, maintaining the original idea of having a Montreal multi-cultural band. Matt was the first recruit, an experienced and talented drummer and sound engineer very active in the music scene of Québec, and Just Alan, "the best guitarist I know" (says Charlie) who has at least 30 years of experience in the Montréal and Canada scenes. Together they worked on preproduction, while creating a new band sound the classical way: playing together for hours, days, weeks and months, diligently working the songs of the new album. They were joined by Louise Selby, an incredible vocalist and guitarist who added an entirely new dimension to the sound of the band.

The song Sweet Melodies was written as a blues rendition by Charlie Zappien, but later on evolved into a hard-rock piece that's meant to be played loud.

To celebrate la Fête Nationale Du Québec, we’re releasing the first single of our upcoming album: Parle-Moi En Français (Baby Love). Recorded, mixed and mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London with Paul Pritchard (main recording and mixing engineer and co producer) and Geoff Pesche (Mastering Engineer) and in Sainte-Sophie with Vincent Coté (engineer and co producer) we’re really happy with this celebration of a Montréal love story. Recently finalized at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, “The Good Enough Days” captures the raw energy and emotion of ZAPPIEN’s live performances. From the anthemic choruses to the thunderous drums, each track is a testament to the band’s collective talent and chemistry. The album’s first single will be out in June and the full project will be later released in October.

Hello world! We've been around for a while and now we're formally opening our doors to welcome new artists and partners. We're artist centered and our mission is to make sure our audiences get the most authentic organic music while our artists get paid fairly.

Thanksgiving passed and living in this problematic world, we can only be grateful for the relative smallness of the challenges we have, for the blessing that is the fact that we can get to work on an album filled with original rock music. We are grateful for all the people we’ve come across in the last two years who have supported us on this journey of creating something out of nothing, with the support of our own indie label CAHZ Productions and to have been able to fulfill the pipe dream of recording at Abbey Road Studios with Paul Pritchard.
