Recently we had the opportunity to visit the Centre Islamique du Quebec Mosque and enrich our understanding of the religious and cultural beliefs, traditions and practices of their Islamic community.

At EHS, we strive to always bear witness to each other's story. A short while ago, Elizabeth House Montreal joined us to celebrate Black history with Roen Higgins who gave such an engaging and touching presentation, beautifully intertwining performance art, storytelling, step, poetry and Black Canadian history. We are so grateful to have such successful, informed, relatable Black female role models in our community! Our lovely Dave Mills also made us yet another fantastic meal celebrating Caribbean Canadian culture. Thank you so much Roen and Dave!

Let's get the world talking about why equal opportunities aren't enough. Let’s foster a deeper understanding of each other’s stories and how to work towards true, meaningful inclusion of all the diverse, complex identities that make up what it means to be a woman, a person, facing and overcoming innumerable barriers in 2023. Thank you SO much Elizabeth House Montreal for inviting us to such a rich, community-oriented conversation with an incredible panel of professionals. It was a wonderful tribute to International Women’s Day 2023!

Thanks to our wonderful spiritual animator, we had a great time today learning about different cultural foods, Chinese heritage, Lunar New Year and even a dumpling-making (and eating!) workshop. Happy Lunar New Year from everyone at EHS!

We are so grateful to have been able to get together in person this holiday season with Elizabeth House Montreal and give our kids, moms, dads and even alumni a chance to catch up, share a meal and play together in our playroom. Even our caretaker passed by as Santa Claus to hand out treats to everyone! Sending out a huge thank you to Dave Mills who made a whole holiday meal for all of us. It was absolutely delicious and paired perfectly with the wonderful company! Happy Holidays everyone!

Getting ready to host Elizabeth House Montreal, our students, alumni, their kids and loved ones for our holiday party last week!

Sending out a HUGE thank you to Pierrefonds Community High School- Home of the Trojans for raising money and donating beautiful gifts to our students' families! Gabby, Olivia, Katleen and Jay-La so generously organized a bake sale and toy drive for us. Our students are touched, incredibly grateful and cannot wait to get the toys all wrapped up for the kids!

Everyone has the right to a safe, positive pregnancy and childbirth experience. At EHS, we celebrate the relevance and legacy of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and are dedicated to learning new ways we can support our students' and their family's right to respect and dignity.

Pregnancy is not put on pause in the COVID-19 pandemic, and neither are fundamental human rights. All women have the right to a safe and positive pregnancy and childbirth experience, with high-quality, respectful maternity care.
