Here's what I know about Self Realization/Enlightenment/Knowing God.

When it happened to me it was impossible to miss because the air around me became ME! After that, a peace that was beyond calm came into my experience.

There were 4 factors that I believe helped me realize myself:
- One pointed mind: Simply sitting with eyes closed as much as possible.
- Serving others: I had a immense anger at all the injustice in the world. The trick is not to get angry at the abusers but compassionate towards the abused. This should be more important than your own desires.
- Overcoming personal limitations: Doing things that made me feel anxious or scared.
- Austerities from alcohol, sugar and caffeine: Eliminating or moderating and eating well.

At some point in my life I was so frustrated nothing was working for me that I decided to go all in on my own growth. It started with doing things I was scared of and constantly learning new things. Eventually I realized how depressed I was at my job and decided to quit so I can meditate all day. It was impossible to sit down all the time but the intention to meditate as much as possible was there.

After the experience I was feeling fearless, but I made the mistake thinking there would not any consequences to my actions and obviously it doesn't work like it, so I suffered a lot afterwards.

I have awareness of every single one of my thoughts. My mind still panics and my emotions do take me over sometimes. I still make mistakes that cause me suffering. However, having this knowing makes everything feel alright.

Something that addiction makes you forget is your own weakness.

By looking at the weakness and brining strength to it, by planning, training or support, addiction can be much easier to deal with.

Hesitating is only going to bring you down and intensify your suffering. It's okay to think about what you want to do, its okay to decide you not ready, but just decide. If you don't decide that emotional charge is going to build up and intensify, slowly making you suffer until you distract yourself. And deciding is going to free up space in your mind and give you a sense of relief.

When living truthfully, life becomes simple. There's no need to think about the past or become anxious about the future.

That's not to say we shouldn't learn from our mistakes or makes plan. Planning can ensure success and minimize risks.

Every time we lie to ourselves we our joy away, it make it harder for us to be around others.

When we can't freely feel our own thoughts and emotions and resist them we become tired, its a lot of work to do this all the time.

A simple strategy for living joyfully is to fully be honest to our self. We don't have to act on our emotions, but we should at least acknowledge they are there, regardless of how negative or filthy they are.

We are always thinking about what we want for our self, thinking that when we get it we get some happiness or pleasure. The problem here is that this feeling doesn't last. so we move onto the chasing the next thing. And if we don't get what we want then we suffer enormously. This cycle doesn't end until we consciously decide we that enough is enough, there has to be something more to life.

The good news is that there is an everlasting river of joy within us. One powerful way of accessing this joy is by doing what life wants from us vs. doing what we want. The shift makes it so that our life is no longer about us but about something bigger. This change is hard to make because the ego is gonna complain over and over, its gonna be like why should stop chasing what I want? Is it going to be okay? What if I never feel joy? So many questions that are based in fear will come up. These questions are a trap to keep you playing with the ego. But the ego needs your response to stay alive without it, it won't be alive for very long.
