Uniting Against Corruption: Insights From The International Anti Corruption Conference 12/13/2024

In June, Timby joined global leaders in Lithuania at the International Anti-Corruption Conference to address corruption, including sexual corruption.

We highlighted our work with a Nigerian NGO, enabling students to anonymously report sexual corruption in universities while accessing mental health and legal support.

To help communities cope with this critical situation, the USAID Bangladesh Ecosystems/Protibesh Activity is empowering local communities in Bangladesh to report environmental threats, such as illegal logging and pollution, while promoting transparency and accountability.🌿

This is their sixth part of video series on 8 USAID-supported Locally Led Adaptation Principles.

Last week, we celebrated the World Nature Conservation Day! 🌱

Since 1972, July 28th has been recognized by the UN General Assembly to call for global environmental action.
Years later at the 2021 UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, leaders from 145 countries pledged to stop and reverse forest loss by 2030, including by conserving forests and other terrestrial ecosystems, and accelerating their restoration.

Historic land win for Ecuador’s Siekopai sets precedent for other Indigenous peoples 08/02/2024

Historic Victory for Indigenous Rights! 🌿

After 80 years of displacement, the Siekopai community in Ecuador has won a landmark lawsuit, securing legal ownership of their ancestral Amazonian land.
The court ordered the environment ministry to issue a property title for 42,360 hectares and issue a public apology for violating their collective territorial rights.

This kind of inspiring story is what motivates us to build community monitoring and reporting across the globe.
