L’un des plus grands ponts en bois du Canada

Dans les années précédant la construction du pont de Mistissini, nous avions déjà contribué à plusieurs projets de ponts, motivés par la nécessité de traverser différentes sections de la forêt boréale. Cette expérience a posé les bases de cette entreprise plus ambitieuse.

Ce pont de 160 mètres, situé au passage Uupaachikus à Mistissini, Québec, améliore non seulement la connectivité et la mobilité de la communauté, mais figure également parmi les plus grands ponts en bois du Canada.

One of Canada’s largest wooden bridges

In the years leading up to the construction of the Mistissini Bridge, we had already contributed to multiple bridge projects, driven by the need to cross diverse sections of the boreal forest. That experience laid the groundwork for this more ambitious undertaking.

This 160-metre (525 ft) bridge over the Uupaachikus Pass in Mistissini, Québec, not only improves connectivity and mobility for the community but also ranks among Canada’s largest wooden bridges.

La nouvelle école primaire Thurston est en cours de construction à côté de l’école existante qui demeure opérationnelle, en minimisant les perturbations pour les élèves et le personnel. Le projet combine le bois massif, des systèmes géothermiques et des panneaux solaires en toiture afin de livrer un bâtiment plus durable et efficace. Le bois massif contribue également à réduire les déchets sur le chantier.

The new Thurston Elementary School is being built next to the fully operational existing school, carefully minimizing disruption for students and staff. The project brings together mass timber, geothermal systems, and rooftop solar, supporting a more sustainable and efficient building. Mass timber further contributes to reduced on-site waste.

Le Centre d’entreprise des sciences de l’Atlantique soutiendra la recherche dédiée à la protection et à la préservation des écosystèmes en Atlantique. Il sera situé dans un bâtiment mixte, alliant béton et bois massif qui comprendra une section de cinq étages entièrement en bois massif, conçue pour contribuer à l'objectif de zéro émission nette de carbone du projet. Le bois massif apparent sera mis en valeur dans les principaux espaces intérieurs.

Nordic Structures is taking another dive into Atlantic Canada 🌊 leading the mass timber momentum in the region.

We are proud to support the federal government's efforts to build greener using our Canadian products in the Maritimes 🍁

The Atlantic Science Enterprise Centre will support research dedicated to protecting and sustaining Atlantic ecosystems, housed in a hybrid concrete and mass timber facility which includes a dedicated five-storey mass timber section designed to support the project’s net-zero carbon emissions target. Exposed mass timber will be featured in key interior spaces.

Zoom sur les détails qui prennent forme au-dessus d'une nouvelle patinoire communautaire. Cet hiver, c’est au tour de Vaudreuil-Dorion de chausser ses patins! ⛸️

Il s'agit du 9ᵉ toit de patinoire au Québec réalisé selon un concept éprouvé, un projet qui reflète la demande soutenue des communautés pour prolonger la saison de patinage et bonifier leurs infrastructures récréatives.

Restez à l’affût, le dixième projet est déjà en préparation.

Looking up at the details behind another community rink taking shape. This winter, it’s Vaudreuil-Dorion’s turn to hit the ice! ⛸️

Now the 9th rink roof in Québec built using a proven design, the project marks another step in a growing portfolio that reflects sustained community demand for longer skating seasons and improved recreational amenities.

Stay tuned, rink number 10 is already on the horizon.

Notre premier grand projet en bois massif aux États-Unis

À tous les fans de hockey! Les principales équipes de hockey de Buffalo, y compris les Sabres de la Ligue nationale de hockey (LNH) et les Golden Griffins de Canisius de la division I de la NCAA, ont emménagé dans le centre d’entraînement LECOM Harborcenter du centre-ville en 2014. Le bâtiment dispose d’une patinoire aux dimensions de la LNH (200 pieds sur 85 pieds) avec 1 800 places assises, ainsi que d’un centre d’entraînement pour la performance sportive.

Au cours de la dernière décennie, la patinoire a accueilli de nombreux matchs marquants, notamment le tout premier match des étoiles de la National Women’s Hockey League en 2016 et les Championnats du monde de para-hockey sur glace en 2025.

Our first major mass timber project in the United States

Calling all hockey fans! Buffalo’s major hockey teams, including the National Hockey League (NHL) Sabres and the NCAA Division I Canisius Golden Griffins, moved into the downtown LECOM Harborcenter training facility in 2014. The building features an NHL-sized rink (200 ft by 85 ft) with 1,800 seats and a sports performance training facility.

Over the past decade, the rink has hosted a variety of notable matches, including the inaugural National Women’s Hockey League All-Star Game in 2016 and the World Para Ice Hockey Championships in 2025.

Le 8 juin a marqué une étape importante pour le Basswood Senior Residence, une résidence pour aînés en Ontario, alors que le projet a officiellement franchi une étape majeure avec l’installation des derniers éléments en bois massif. Ce fut une belle occasion de se réunir avec des partenaires et des membres de la communauté engagés dans la création de logements abordables de haute qualité.

En tant que premier projet multirésidentiel en bois massif de la région de Peel, cette réalisation représente une avancée prometteuse. Félicitations à toutes les personnes impliquées!

June 8th marked a major milestone for Basswood Senior Residence as the project officially topped out with the installation of the final mass timber elements. It was a wonderful opportunity to come together with partners and community members who are committed to creating high-quality, affordable housing.

As the first multi-residential mass timber project in the Region of Peel, this achievement represents an exciting step forward. Congratulations to everyone involved!

Premier immeuble multirésidentiel en Amérique du Nord construit en CLT

Situé à quelques pas de notre usine, ce projet de condominiums de 24 unités sur quatre étages offre des logements à la communauté locale tout en constituant une étape importante dans la construction en bois massif. Il s’agit du premier bâtiment nord-américain multi-étages réalisé en bois lamellé-croisé, démontrant non seulement le potentiel structural de ce matériau, mais aussi sa rapidité, son efficacité et la réduction de la main-d’œuvre nécessaire : seulement cinq travailleurs ont achevé la structure en 22 jours ouvrables. En tant que prototype pour de futurs projets, il a établi un précédent quant à la manière dont le bois lamellé-croisé peut transformer la construction multi-étages.

First multi-residential building in North America constructed with CLT

Located just down the road from our plant, this 24-unit, four-storey condominium project provides housing for the local community while serving as a milestone in mass-timber construction. It is the first North American multi-storey building constructed with cross-laminated timber, demonstrating not only the material’s structural potential but also the speed, efficiency, and reduced labour required: just five workers completed the structure in only 22 workdays. As a prototype for future projects, it set a precedent for how cross-laminated timber can transform multi-storey construction.
