If you believe hope isn’t naive but necessary.

🌿 The Wild We Chose · Acquisition Announcement
✨ New acquisition
We are proud to announce the acquisition of The Wild We Chose.
A powerful, character-driven speculative novel about community, survival, and the choices we make when the world demands obedience instead of care.
This is a story about resistance that is quiet and fierce.
About relationships that shape us.
About choosing the wild, even when it costs everything.
A deeply human solarpunk novel, coming to Flame Arrow.

📘 Seekers of the Fallen Stars · Acquisition Announcement
✨ New acquisition
We are thrilled to welcome Seekers of the Fallen Stars to the Flame Arrow catalogue.
A character-driven epic fantasy following an astronomer, a pirate captain, and a shaman bound to ancestral memory, drawn together by a near-mythical artifact said to grant power over sea and sky, life and death.
The legend is tempting.
The truth is far more dangerous.
An epic fantasy rooted in emotional intelligence, mythic depth, and a strong moral core.
Coming soon.

Last month, we published this Arrow Dispatch.
We didn’t share it right away.
But the question it asks hasn’t gone anywhere.
Why does Flame Arrow exist?
Why keep telling stories of resilience, resistance, and rebirth when it would be easier not to?
If you missed it, it’s here.
Read the full essay via the link in bio.
This isn’t a short format.
It’s a longer conversation about Dark Winters.
Why this space exists. Why stories still matter when things feel heavy. And what we try to hold onto when the world gets loud.
If you feel like listening, take the time.
If not, that’s okay too.
We’re also close to 1,000 followers here. Once we reach that, Instagram unlocks Live, and I’d love to open up conversations like this in real time.
Thanks for being here.
And if this resonates, following or sharing helps more than you think.
An excerpt from a longer conversation.
This is what Dark Winters is about.
Stories, attention, and making space for meaning when things feel uncertain.
The full conversation is in the previous post.

This Sunday, I’m going live to talk about something that’s been on my mind lately.
When the world feels unstable and exhausting, stories don’t exist to distract us from that reality. They exist as emergency fires. Not to make the cold disappear, but to help us stay human long enough to find one another again.
I’ll be connecting this idea to the Invisible Line duology we’re spotlighting this month, and why these stories feel especially relevant right now.
Sunday, January 11
3:00 pm Pacific / 6:00 pm Eastern
This will be a quiet, informal conversation.
If you’d like to join, you’re very welcome.
Winter is for slower stories.
This month, Five Points is being read by the Violet Hour Book Club. If you want the full journey, the Invisible Line duology is available together.
A hopepunk duology about resistance, connection, and choosing to stay human.

As the year comes to a close, we’re taking a breath and looking back.
This year at Flame Arrow Publishing was about more than releases or milestones.
It was about commitment.
To craft over shortcuts.
To hopeful stories in uncertain times.
To bilingual publishing and meaningful community.
We launched new titles.
We connected with readers across Canada.
We ran a Kickstarter that reaffirmed belief in independent publishing.
We celebrated an unforgettable dual book launch at Joie de Livres.
Behind the scenes, we made deliberate choices.
To build slowly.
To honor Brins d’éternité while pushing it forward.
To champion stories of resilience, resistance, and rebirth.
Indie publishing isn’t easy. But this year reminded us why it’s worth it.
Thank you to our authors, readers, booksellers, and supporters for walking this path with us.
We’re heading into the next chapter grounded, grateful, and hopeful.

Thrilled to see Su J Sokol’s Five Points on an Invisible Line highlighted by the Ottawa Review of Books. Thank you for the generous and insightful review.
Five Points on an Invisible Line by Su J. Sokol Five Points on an Invisible Line, is the sequel to Cycling to Asylum (recently re-issued as The Invisible Line). In it, author Su Sokol returns to the Wolfes, an American family of four, who had bicycled from Brooklyn, New York, across the border into Canada. The setting is the probably not-too-dist...
