What would you do if you had enough money to do anything you wanted, and you knew you couldn't fail at anything?

Do you really, honestly know what you would do?

If you do, What would you do every day?
NOT what your family or friends want you to do, but WHAT YOU REALLY WANT TO DO.

Considering that you have a clear dream, what's stopping you?

Why haven't you taken even one small step toward that vision this week?

I ask you because over the years, I've noticed something: the distance between our dreams and our reality is usually smaller than we think.

That person who dreams of writing? They could start anytime, all they need is 15 minutes a day.

The one who wants to help people? They could start volunteering one hour a week.

Those who have business ideas? They could start today, researching their idea right now, all they need is 30 minutes a day.

Sometimes we think we need to jump across the whole canyon, when all we need to do is build a bridge, one stone at a time.

If your dream is to be on the other side of the canyon, have you start finding the best stones to build your bridge? It doesn't have to be large, it can be a small stone.

Today's reflection is this:

Have you placed one stone this week to start your bridge (your dream)? 🪨

You May Be Asking, How Can I Know What’s My Divine Talent?

The Divine Talent Test:

Here is how, just imagine this scenario:

You walk into a restaurant and immediately notice three things that are wrong or could be improved: The lighting creates shadows on the tables and people can't appreciate the chef's creations, the menu layout is confusing and too long, and the staff seems overwhelmed and disorganized (“on the juice”) during peak hours.

Your friend sitting across from you notices none of these things but takes too long to order something from the menu. Then, when the food arrives, doesn’t even look at the plate, and every time he tries to order a drink, the waiter can’t be found. Nevertheless, everybody’s trying to enjoy their meal.

At the end of the evening, your friend is kind of disappointed at the restaurant saying “it wasn’t good service, they were too busy”, but you know the truth, you “saw it”

So, this is the important thing: whatever you naturally notice and want to fix or improve, is often pointing toward your Divine Talent.

If someone spots a lighting issue, might be a natural designer.

The one who sees the menu problems could be gifted in communication, marketing or has seen an extensive variety of menus and can tell the good ones from the bad ones.

And the person who notices staff inefficiency might be a born operations manager.
With this example, I want you to start thinking on yourself and keep your eyes and senses open and alert to “discover” yourself, your Divine Talent.

Remember, we all have this “unique eye” for seeing problems or improvements in areas where we're naturally gifted.

So here's my question today is: When you're out in the world: at stores, restaurants, events, or the office, what do you systematically and consistently notice that others seem to miss?

What problems or issues do you see that make you think, “Why don't they just do this…”?

Now that you know the “HOW”, applied it to your daily life and be ready to surprise yourself.

Share below your experience: you might be surprised by what your responses reveal about your hidden talents! 👀

Or you may just found your unique Divine Talent.

HOW I DISCOVER THE GIFT I WAS BORN WITH 😁

As a restaurant manager in Cancun in the 1980s, every high season I had to hire 40 or more people to double our staff.

After interviewing hundreds of people for jobs, something strange started happening. Within minutes of talking to someone, I could sense not just whether they'd be good or not for the job, but I “knew” what they were REALLY meant to do.

I remember several of them that ended up succeeding, either by changing the job or going all the way into the business. Like Maria, a young girl recently arrived from Guadalajara City looking for a way of life away from her family. She applied to be a waitress, almost immediately I “knew” this job was not for her. She had a particular way of organizing everything around her, so I suggested she look into event planning, and I recommend her to see some people I knew. Years later, I heard she was running her own successful wedding business in Playa del Carmen.

Another one I remember was Carlos, who loved cooking, but since I hire him, he kept asking questions about our suppliers, costs, and management. I told him he had a business mind, not just cooking talent, (OMG! He was very good!). He eventually opened three restaurants of his own.

Every season taught me something vital, essential: everyone has what I call Divine Talent, but most people can't see it in themselves. In fact, almost everyone put it on the side “because it's too easy to do”.

Sometimes it takes someone else to show us our talent, and it's up to us to develop it or let it fade away.

What talents do you think others see in you that you might be blind to? 🤔

“The Difference Between What You Like and What You're Gifted At”

Here's something that trips up 90% of people trying to find their path:

They confuse what they ENJOY doing with what they're naturally GIFTED at.
I learned this lesson watching restaurant staff over the years. Some people LOVED the idea of cooking: they'd watch cooking shows, talk about recipes, dream of being chefs.

But put them in a real kitchen during rush hour? They'd crumble under pressure.

Then there were others who never thought about cooking as a career, but they had this natural rhythm in the kitchen. They could handle five orders simultaneously, never got flustered, and somehow made it look effortless.

The difference? Natural gift vs. romantic interest.

Your Divine Talent is what comes so naturally to you that you assume everyone can do it. It's what people ask for your help with. It's what you do well, even when you're tired or stressed.

Here's a quick test: What do people consistently compliment you on or ask you to help them with? That's often pointing toward your natural gift.

What's something you do that others find difficult but feels easy to you?

Can You Recognize the First Signs of Imposter Syndrome?

"When will they discover I'm a fake?" Do you ever have that thought, even when there is evidence to the contrary? You might think, "How long before they discover I'm not worthy of this?" Is the face you show the world one of self-confidence when it is a mask that covers your true feelings of self-doubt, inadequacy, and not being worthy of recognition?

If any of this sounds familiar, you might be suffering from imposter syndrome.

"The impostor phenomenon" was the term researchers Suzanne Ament Imes and Pauline Rose Clance created in 1978 to describe this condition. It exists in some high achievers who think they succeeded by sheer luck. They might believe they are unintelligent, far from capable and deserving of recognition, even though the opposite is true.

They feel like an impostor, a fake, an actor. People suffering from imposter syndrome might be the highest achievers in their fields. Even so, they often battle thoughts that they are simply lucky and undeserving of their achievements.

Early Warning Signs of Impostor Syndrome

Have you ever reached a level of success you hadn't experienced before? You may have worked very hard to nail a promotion at your job. You may have spent hours every night on schoolwork to get decent grades. Maybe you've met the person you believe is your soulmate, and you have a dreamlike relationship.

Impostor syndrome can have you believing you are not worthy of these wonderful realities. Certainly, you aren't smart enough, deserving enough, or fill-in-the-blank enough for some success, recognition, or love.

One of the first signs of this false belief happens after a previously unattained success.

Your hard work and pursuit of an achievement pays off. This is the first time you have experienced anything like this. Because this is all new to you, it's common to feel doubt, uncertainty, and inadequacy.

It’s never happened before, so why now? Surely, it is just luck. You had better hang on tight as you’ll soon be exposed as the fraud you know you are.

Negative self-talk is another sign that this belief system can develop. If the conversations you have with yourself begin with phrases like "I can't," "I never," "I'm not," and "I won't," you are programming yourself to feel like you don't deserve good experiences, fulfillment, and success.

"I've Got to Work Harder"

Have you ever thought this? It might be a good thing. You may recognize that you aren't doing your best at work. This is often the idea of someone who already succeeds at a very high level. Since they don't believe in themselves, they work harder and longer to prove they are worthy of their accomplishments.

Imposter syndrome is a stress-building machine. If allowed free reign, it can ruin your relationships, both personal and professional. You limit your experience and never truly feel fulfilled because you don't credit yourself for your accomplishments. This is, unfortunately, a belief among many capable people who are worthy of success.

Impostor Syndrome isn't a fixed trait; it can emerge at any point in life, even if you've never experienced it before.

Breaking Down 5 Myths of Imposter Syndrome (Part 2)

Let’s clear up common myths about Impostor Syndrome—misconceptions that, much like the chewing gum myth, can undermine your confidence and hold you back from building a fulfilling, financially secure future, whether you're a stay-at-home parent, a retiree pursuing a second career, or simply looking to make a change.

Myth #2 - Confident People Don't Have Issues with Impostor Syndrome
Don't fall for the myth that successful people are immune to Impostor Syndrome.
In fact, many high achievers, even those who appear incredibly confident, grapple with these feelings regularly.
They've simply learned to manage them effectively, pushing forward despite their inner doubts.
While confidence is certainly a valuable asset in navigating these challenges and recognizing that these feelings don't reflect reality, it's not a foolproof shield against Impostor Syndrome.
True, lasting change, especially when it comes to improving your financial standing, requires more than just surface-level confidence; it demands addressing the root causes of these self-limiting beliefs.

Breaking Down 5 Myths of Imposter Syndrome (Part 1)

Let's clear up some common misconceptions that might be holding you back from achieving your full potential.

Just like the myth that chewing gum stays in your stomach for seven years, there are several falsehoods surrounding Impostor Syndrome that can prevent you from taking control of your life and finances.
These myths can be detrimental, especially if you're looking to make a change, whether you're a stay-at-home parent seeking new opportunities, a retiree exploring a second career, or simply someone wanting to improve their financial situation.

We'll debunk these misleading beliefs about Impostor Syndrome so you can overcome this common obstacle and create the fulfilling and financially secure future you deserve.

Myth #1 - It's Nothing More Than Self-Doubt

While self-doubt is a common experience, particularly when considering new ventures or financial changes, it's important to distinguish it from the more pervasive and insidious Impostor Syndrome.
Yes, feeling like a fraud and fearing exposure are components of Impostor Syndrome, but it goes much deeper.

Impostor Syndrome isn't just a fleeting moment of uncertainty; it's a deeply ingrained belief system that can sabotage your efforts to improve your financial well-being and prevent you from pursuing the fulfilling life you envision, whether that involves a career change, entrepreneurial pursuits, or simply managing your finances more effectively.
