Check out this workshop on targeted advertisements on Facebook and Instagram as survey recruitment tools for hard-to-reach populations by the Centre on Population Dynamics (CPD) & Centre of the Study of Democratic Citizenship (CSDC) on October, 21st.
Starting with a discussion of this method’s potential and limitations, the workshop will focus on the practicalities of targeting specific populations through Facebook and Instagram. Special attention will be paid to issues important to consider when planning a sampling strategy using Facebook/Instagram. The workshop will be based on several recent research projects targeting, among others, German emigrants globally, health sector workers in Germany and Ukrainian refugees in Germany and Poland.

The Geospatial Modelling Lab (GML, http://arcgis.mta.ca) at Mount Allison University seeks a spatial analyst to construct a coastal islands geodatabase for Atlantic Canada, as well as plan and execute customized spatial analyses to support the detailed characterization of coastal island environments. This is a 6-month, full-time position.

You can register for our weekly workshops on *QGIS*, *ArcGIS Pro*, *R*, *Python* and *PostGreSQL* at https://gic.geog.mcgill.ca/workshops. Workshops are open to the McGill community free of charge (make sure you register with your university e-mail account). They are held in person in Burnside Hall BH511 this fall on Wednesdays at 5:30 PM and usually last 2 to 3 hours.

Pulse Volume 1, Issue 1 has officially launched.
Congratulations to all the contributors, editors, and designers who transformed this journal from a germ of an idea into the cutting-edge publication it is today. The GIC will be open 9.30am to 4.30pm from Monday, February 28th to Friday, March 4th and will be closed on Saturday, March 5th, and Sunday, March 6th.
