The power has always belonged to us, the people; we've just been conditioned to give it away. It's time we reclaimed ourselves before we're lost completely.

I've been back in my creative element, and while I do have plans to release music this year, I've surrendered to the idea of not actually having any release plans, of letting the whims of the moment steer me. I think that's what my personal journey is this year, learning to unlearn, to move without constant structure.

But hey, in the meantime, for those of you that may be new to my music or long time listeners that just want to revisit my work, I created a curated Spotify playlist called 'Stephen Voyce Essentials', with some songs spanning my now decade long journey, songs that I feel truly represent that journey so far. (And yes I'm perfectly aware of the irony of creating structure amidst my decision to be free of it... I'm a work in progress).

It's strange, finding yourself in that space, after the end of one story, not quite ready for the next one to begin. Still, it's a necessary loud silence.

There's so much in this great cosmos that we may simply never know. I think of that often, all the knowledge that may forever elude us; but in our quest to discover those unattainable truths maybe we'll stumble upon something worth knowing... maybe one day, when we finally set our egos aside, and look to brighter possibilities, as a species.

This year, I don't see myself releasing another album, especially after putting out three, three years consecutively. I just feel like I've said everything I needed to say, in that format anyway, at least for now. It doesn't mean I won't create and release new music; I mean, with everything happening in the world right now, how can I not have feelings and thoughts to share? I'm just in that space again where I want to put things out differently, say things differently, without the bindings of cohesiveness, letting the storm guide me.

It may take a while for my heart to hear what my soul is screaming, longer still for my mind to listen, but one way or another, it always comes out in the music.

This year onwards let's stop worrying about how we're perceived when what truly matters is who we actually are.

I'd rather grow as a person than choose to remain relevant if the cost of that relevance is my willingness to grow.

We're coerced to relinquish our sense of self, conned to accept this illusion of choice. Still we never truly tune out that gnawing feeling that something isn't quite right do we? No matter how distracted we've been induced to be, deep down we know that there is a better way to live.

I love sitting with the inception of an idea, and imagining just how far I could take it; and even if I don't quite know how to connect that end to its beginning, I trust that I'll figure it out somewhere along the way.
