Creating this live version for “Attention Seeking” with my band was such a fun and different experience than my usual time in the studio! Playing it live too, it becomes more than just a prod on my computer and it becomes a moment shared with my team in real time..✨

✍️ I wanted to write about the push & pull in love; the questions, the doubt, the hope, but also its fragility, its fleeting nature & navigating mixed signals - with strong contrasts & the juxtaposition of “a weekend” vs. “a lifetime”.

Sonically, playing with the vo-coder and MIDI-controlled polyphonic harmonies, helped me create that multi-voice effect, much like the conflicting voices in our head: thrill, hesitation, longing, anxiety…

In the storytelling, the way I see it, the verses are in love, the chorus questions it all, and the bridge longs for more. Along with the intentional electronic production, the syncopated drops also aim to emulate that push & pull of emotional uncertainty, like waves 🌊 rising and crashing.
