Pony Rouge is super pumped to be to playing once again for the Living Roots Festival #5 on Friday May 29th !!

PONY ROUGE came from Moncton and kicked our butts last year so we are bringing them back. They will play Friday night.

PONY ROUGE is distinguished as New Brunswick’s premiere all instrumental prog-rock fusion group led by Moncton based guitarist and composer Pierre Pitre. As an integral part of this musical force is producer and sound engineer John Maher as founding member and bass player . Drummer Mario Leblanc brings a wealth of progressive music influences ,chops and a great dynamic groove sensibility to the trio. Pony Rouge is best described as clever,avant-garde even at times grandiose in its live presentation.

Pony Rouge's tune "YQM" written as a tribute to Rush now has so much more meaning with the passing of the Professor . It pales in comparison to Rush's instrumental masterpiece YYZ . However, Neil Peart's relentless passion to improve as a musician even at the pinnacle of his career, wanting to completely reevaluate his whole technique and craft was and is a priceless lesson for us to carry on ,not make a fuss and never give up as musicians on our instruments . This one will always be for you Bubba!
