Some think that syrup season is only Jan-April...
Ken is preparing the wood for next year.
This year we went through 11 totes plus a wood shed. He is planning on having 15 totes of wood this year.
Some may think that theaple.syrup season is only in Jan-Feb-Mar... But there are things that go on all year round.
Ken has been busy preparing the wood for next year. We had 11 totes plus the wood shed, this year he is preparing 15 totes!

Day 40, gotta make it fun, or it is considered work!
We had to haul the jugs back from the bush.. I said to Dirk we will build a rack with sticks used in piling the lumber... So we did, and a small rope...
So how many jugs do you think we were able to bring back in one load?? Only lost 3 once, due to clearance of a branch 😂

This morning's conversation was... We are done! We are pulling the jugs. We are tapping out!
Yes there will most likely be another run tomorrow, but we are tired and done.
We have surpassed our goal, and we can hear the cottage calling us!!
Currently we have 301L bottled, labeled and available for sale.
Our goal was 257L for our 257 taps.
A short video for those who wonder what collecting/picking sap is like. The conditions are ideal here, because there is no snow and you can walk anywhere, unlike earlier in the season when you have to stay on the packed down trail we had made.
