Okay, serious question…

Are you all going to hate me if I post a few Alaska photos while we’re away? 😆

We spent today glacier watching, and I don’t think pictures can properly capture how incredible this was in person. The colour of the water, the ice, the mountains… absolutely unreal.

Don’t worry, I’ll be back to sawdust, lasers, UV printing, and custom orders soon enough. 😉

For now, here’s a little piece of Alaska. 🏔️❄️

I’m currently thousands of kilometres away, but today my heart is back home in Medicine Hat.

Yesterday, our community lost an 11-year-old child far too soon. While I didn’t know him personally, as a parent, grandparent, and someone who cares deeply about children, news like this hits hard.

There are moments that remind us how fragile life can be, and this is one of them. My heart aches for his family, his friends, his classmates, his teachers, the first responders, and everyone whose lives were touched by him.

No family should have to face this kind of loss. No child should leave this world so soon.

Tonight, I’m holding his loved ones in my thoughts and sending love home to a community that is grieving together.

Hug your kids a little tighter. Tell the people you love that you love them. Tomorrow is never promised.

Rest easy, sweet boy. ❤️

Remember the custom address sign I shared a few days ago?

The customer sent me these photos after it was installed and I had to share them. (Thank you Ami! Shared with permission)

This was the first sign of this style that I’ve built and something completely different from my usual projects. Cedar, acrylic, custom framing, exterior finishes, and plenty of trial and error along the way.

I thought it looked good in the shop, but seeing it installed with the landscaping and lighting completely transformed it.

This is why I always love seeing customer photos. Sometimes a project doesn’t truly come to life until it’s in its final home.

I have to admit, seeing the nighttime photo lit up might be my favourite part. 😍

Well… I’ve almost finished all the orders that needed to be done before vacation, which means I’ve had a little time to keep playing with the new UV printer. 😍

I think I’m actually going to miss this thing while I’m gone!

Today’s experiment is this Medicine Hat faux stained glass suncatcher featuring the Saamis Teepee, Finlay Bridge, and Medalta.

I’m having way too much fun testing new products lately.

I’ve already ordered some black hanging chains for these because the twine was definitely just a test run. I think the chains are going to make them look even more like real stained glass.

If anyone still needs a teacher dry erase eraser or another quick gift before I leave, there’s still a little bit of time left! Just send me a message. 😊

Before I head off on vacation, I’ve been busy wrapping up the last of this week’s orders and sneaking in a little time to play with some new ideas on the UV printer!

One product I’ve been testing is faux stained glass suncatchers on clear acrylic, and I have to admit… I’m pretty impressed with how they’re turning out. 🌞✨ From custom portraits to memorial pieces and fun designs, the possibilities are endless.

I’m still experimenting with different techniques, colours, and finishes, but I think these may become a regular offering in the shop!
