This session with Jeska was such a good reminder that the best brand photos don’t come from trying to look a certain way… they come from showing up as you actually are.

If you’ve got a brand shoot coming up (or one on your vision board), here are 5 ways to show up authentically 👇

1️⃣ Get clear on your message, not just your outfits
Before you think about colors or poses, ask: What do I want people to feel when they land on my page? Confidence? Warmth? Authority? Let that lead everything else.

2️⃣ Wear what makes you forget about your clothes
If you’re adjusting, pulling, or second-guessing—your body language will show it. Comfort = confidence. Always.

3️⃣ Bring pieces that actually exist in your real life
Your notebook, coffee mug, laptop, tools of your trade... these details help tell a story that feels believable and lived-in (because it is).

4️⃣ Don’t perform...connect.
You don’t need to “act on.” Talk. Laugh. Think. Breathe. The most powerful images usually happen between the posed moments.

5️⃣ Trust the process (and your photographer 😉)
You don’t have to know how to pose or what to do with your hands...that’s my job! Your job is just to show up as yourself.

The Lerner family invited me into their home for the sweetest Christmas baking session… and honestly my heart could’ve burst. There’s something so sacred about flour-covered counters, tiny helping hands, and the joy that fills a home when everyone is gathered with one purpose… to create together.

When our kids are young, these moments matter. We’re not just baking cookies... we’re establishing rhythms and traditions that shape their sense of belonging, peace, and identity. These are the memories they’ll carry into adulthood… the ones that anchor them and remind them they’re loved, safe, and held.

One of my own favourite traditions is the Calgary Zoo light and also decorating cookies with my kiddos. It’s messy, hilarious, and somehow always ends with someone sneaking too many sprinkles… but it’s ours. And it’s holy in its own way.
