What a turnout on Saturday's tournament 🥰

This past weekend, players gathered to play in The Host Charity Badminton Tournament. Everyone had a great time participating in the games and activities.

Every week, trainees work behind the scenes to clean utensils and set up tables before service 🍽😊

Before guests walk through our doors, trainees practice skills in the dining area, behind the drinks bar counter, and in the kitchen to ensure they can do their best to serve you.

What a fun day at Cherish and Possible Cafe 🤩

We celebrated trainees' May birthdays at Possible Cafe today. Everyone enjoyed meals made by Vocational Training program trainees and staff. They had a lot of fun mingling with one another and singing a couple rounds of karaoke.

Our Summer Camps are back! 😎

Cherish Integrated Services' summer camps for kids and youths with autism and developmental disabilities will run from June to August. Campers will enjoy a variety of activities including games, sports, crafts, outings, and more!

Trainees at our main centre have been hard at work too 💪

We’re slowly working on decorating Possible Cafe with the help of our trainees. They’ve been painting and making unique crafts to add to the cafe’s art wall. Each trainee had their own approach to their pieces. Some made patterns while others mixed colours together. Other trainees worked on paper crafts and carefully chose ribbons to create a one-of-a-kind art piece.

Anyone fancy a new bag charm or cute accessory? 😊✨

Trainees in our day program have been experimenting with clay to make keychain charms and accessories. They've been having a lot of fun getting creative and making everything from rainbows to planets to donuts. If you keep your eyes peeled, you might see some of our charms available for sale soon 🤫

Trainees are always crafting something new! You can purchase a variety of their artwork and crafts year-round at our centre. All proceeds go towards supporting our organization.

Our trainees’ newest project 😊🌸

Trainees in our Daily Living Enrichment (DLE) day program have been working hard to create pipe cleaner flowers for Mother’s Day. They are involved in every step of the crafting process including folding and twisting the pipe cleaners and putting together all the different pieces. After putting so much time and effort into this project, they’re excited to bring some flowers home to their loved ones.

Did you know it's National Caregiver Day today? ❤

The Ontario Caregiver Organization defines caregivers as "ordinary people who provide physical and emotional support to a family member, partner, friend, or neighbour". Caregivers play important roles in the lives of our trainees. As parents and guardians, they take care of them, aid in their development, and more.

However, as trainees grow older, so do their caregivers. Many families cannot afford to wait years for government housing due to health conditions or other pressing issues. That's why our newest project, Cherish Enriched Living, aims to provide a culturally-sensitive home to trainees.
