It was great to stand alongside doctors, healthcare professionals, community organizations, community leaders, volunteers, and members of the media to help raise awareness about the importance of cancer screening, early detection, prevention, and treatment.

Thank you to Jaffna Medical Faculty Overseas Alumni – Canada and Behind Media for organizing this wonderful walk and bringing the community together for such an important cause.

Happy to join Oana Raluca Gherghe, Consul General of Romania in Toronto, and the community in Markham for an evening celebrating Romanian heritage through the experience of “Regina Mamă,” a powerful and beautifully performed play showcasing the richness of Romanian culture.

Moments like this made it especially meaningful to share that I introduced the Romanian Heritage Week Act, which, if passed, will recognize and celebrate the contributions of the many Ontarians of Romanian heritage.

Congratulations to acclaimed Romanian actors Oana Pellea and Marius Manole for their outstanding performances, and thank you to everyone involved in bringing this remarkable cultural event to the community.

Deeply heartbroken by the tragic loss of Toronto Police Constable Marc Pinizzotto. The profession of policing is one of immense courage, sacrifice, and service. Officers put their lives on the line each day to protect our communities, often without knowing what dangers they may face. My heartfelt and deepest condolences go out to Const. Pinizzotto’s family, loved ones, and his colleagues in the Toronto Police Service. Ontario grieves with you during this incredibly difficult time. May his service and dedication never be forgotten.

This Filipino Heritage Month, we recognize the stories, traditions, and values that have been passed down through generations and continue to strengthen our communities today.

Markham-Thornhill is fortunate to be enriched by the leadership, talent, and cultural diversity of its Filipino residents.

Today, we celebrate the rich heritage, culture, and contributions of the Portuguese community in Ontario and across Canada. Thank you for helping make our city stronger, more vibrant, and more diverse.

Deeply saddened by the loss of OPP Constable Tarun Bali while serving in the line of duty. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, loved ones, and fellow OPP members during this incredibly difficult time.

His dedication to service and sacrifice will not be forgotten, and his legacy will continue to inspire the community he served and people across Ontario.
