As an Appalachian author one thing I am extremely proud of and consistently inspired by is the culture and lore our ancestors have carried down to us. I am repeatedly drawn to the paranormal, the fantastical, the legendary stories from ages of old. As an author and teacher, with an extreme love of literature and music, I realize at times that I must consider what my legacy will be. Coping with such a huge loss to the creative world as Eddie Van Halen passed yesterday, I have considered this heavily in the last 24 hours.
