1200 sqft Project - Final Design 🏡✨

For this project, we redesigned a narrow layout into a spacious, open-concept plan to maximize the limited space.

To create a bright and warm atmosphere, we blended traditional and modern elements. The light color tones combined with natural wood patterns showcase a relaxing and cozy feeling when you're at home.

1500 sqft, but feels bigger than it is — here’s why.

In this project, our goal was simple: to make it feel bright, smooth, and easy to live in.

On the main floor, the issue wasn’t the size.
It was the way the space was used.
The living room, dining, and kitchen were separated in feeling, which made the whole area feel smaller and less comfortable.

So we focused on fixing the flow.
By treating the three areas as one continuous space, the movement becomes natural, and the space immediately feels more open.
Storage is planned from the beginning, so everything stays clean without effort.
Lighting is balanced across the whole floor, creating a soft and even brightness instead of a strong contrast.

In the master bedroom, we kept everything simple and controlled.
The layout is clear, the storage is organized, and the tones are warm, so the space feels calm and easy to rest in.

For the ensuite, it is a full 4-piece bathroom, but the key improvement was the movement.
We adjusted how each function connects, so from entry to vanity, to shower and bathtub, everything flows naturally without interruption.
With the right layout, the space feels more open and more comfortable to use every day.

The size didn’t change, but the experience did.

How to choose the right cabinet material?

In Canada, many clients ask us the same question when customizing cabinets:
Which board is more durable?

Here’s a simple breakdown of the two most common options — MDF vs Plywood:

MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard)

Very flexible for design
Works great with different finishes, especially painted doors
Less likely to crack with humidity changes
Good bending strength → ideal for cabinet doors

Note:

Lower load-bearing capacity
Can sag if the span is too wide or holding heavy items
Not very moisture-resistant
Quality may vary depending on where it’s sourced

Plywood

Strong and durable, great structural support
Ideal for cabinet boxes
More moisture-resistant than MDF
Long lifespan — easily 20+ years with normal use
Strong screw holding → safer for wall cabinets

In Canada, most boards meet formaldehyde standards, but if a quote is too cheap, it’s worth double-checking the material quality.

We use Blum hardware for better durability and smooth, quiet use
