Hello, my name is Dan Bowyer and I am the Principal of Toronto eLearning School. This past year has been a 'trifecta' of accomplishments for me personally. Back in May of 2025 at the University of Toronto's Defy Gravity Volunteer Summit, I and others were presented with our Defy Gravity pin in recognition of our support towards reaching the 2021 Defy Gravity campaign goal of $4 billion. Currently we are more than half way there. Also in May 2025, I was presented with a King Charles III Coronation Medal and Certificate by Rechie Valdez, PC MP, for volunteer service to our community and the nation. Finally, this January I received my Arbor Award from UofT for "Outstanding Volunteer Service to the University of Toronto". It's been a heady year.

Hi-Skule™ from U of T engineering is inviting you to the University of Toronto High School Design Competition (UTHSDC) on November 8th, 2025. You will work in teams of 4-5 to create and present a conceptual solution to a real-world problem using techniques taught in first-year engineering design courses!

You will hear from a professor of first-year engineering design, and have the opportunity to speak with a representative from the Engineering Recruitment Office about the admission processes, requirements, and scholarships.

Additionally, the top 8 teams will receive a free ticket to compete in a similar design competition, held in early January, against first and second-year engineering students at the University of Toronto!

Remember that no experience is needed to attend, and teams will be assigned if you don't know others. This is an amazing opportunity you don't want to miss out on, so sign up with your friends while early bird tickets are being sold! All grades are welcome to attend.
