All Maple Ridge - Pitt Meadows public schools are CLOSED today, Wednesday, November 30, 2022. This includes all district trades programs and all Riverside Centre programs, including Continuing Education and Ridge Meadows College.

Due to extreme weather, school will be closed Monday, June 28.

Dear Kanaka Creek families,

Due to the dangerous long-duration heat wave that will last through Monday, I have made the difficult decision to close Kanaka Creek Elementary for Monday, June 28.

While the school facility itself is equipped with air conditioning, many Kanaka Creek students walk to school – some from considerable distances. At this time, the forecast for tomorrow is for 44C at dismissal. I sincerely apologize for the added inconvenience this may pose during an already challenging time. Please know that this decision was made with the health and safety of our students top of mind.

A great parent event that ties in with the new SOGI curriculum.

Get ready....it's carnival time! Save the date: Thursday July 6, 5-8pm. Everyone welcome! School families, we are now needing volunteers!

Check out our new outdoor learning space, and grade 7 recess club"house"! The PAC is very proud of how it turned out! We eagerly await the container art by our artist in residence, Robi, and the students!

Soooooo cute! Here is one of our items up for auction at the Gala on Feb 27th. Its the thumbprints of all of our Kindergarten kids on a platter, made into bees, ladybugs and frogs. Come to the office after school all this week to get tickets $25.

We are still accepting donations for our silent auction, and our wall of wine draw. Msg Laura Kelly for how to drop off your donations!

Save the date! February 27th is the date of our annual spring fundraiser. This year there will be Improv comedy with Vancouver Theatresports, live music with Almost famous, cash bar, lots of raffles, prizes and auction items.... and all for a great cause! Tickets will go on sale late January, only $25 per person!
