Step into a forest that’s more than just trees 🌲
Join Dr. Suzanne Simard (author of Finding the Mother Tree) and Hélène Marcoux (Director & Forester, Malcolm Knapp Research Forest) for a 2-hour guided forest walk exploring what logging can look like beyond clear-cuts.
Learn how tree retention forestry supports soil carbon and ecosystem resilience, examine recent forest operations, and see firsthand how harvest decisions and equipment shape the land and what’s left behind when we rethink traditional practices.
Participants will walk 1-2km on hiking trails, rain or shine. 2 sessions available on February 21.
Don't miss out! Limited spaces are available.
We are grateful for the funding support of Jill Kantelberg, the McCain family, and the Silviculture Innovation Program for supporting this research.
