Are you looking to hire support staff? Learn about Support Worker Central, a free, province-wide job board where families and their loved ones with disabilities can find and hire support staff. There are currently over 3000 workers looking for work on the job board!

Join us on Tuesday, September 22, from 12:00 to 1:00pm on Zoom for an introductory presentation on how YOU can be one step closer to finding the perfect match with your next support worker.

During this presentation, you will learn how to create an account as someone hiring staff through Support Worker Central, how the job board works, and the resources available to support you as an employer. There will be time to ask questions.

This presentation is geared towards people who are hiring support staff; however, if you are interested in becoming a support worker, you are welcome to attend.

Support Worker Central is a joint initiative between Vela and the Family Support Institute.

We’re looking for a few amazing volunteers to join our team at Friends In Need Food Bank and help us run our Perishable Food Recovery Facility. Our facility is open 7 days a week from 7am until noon.

If you enjoy sorting donations, can comfortably lift 50lbs, and want to connect with wonderful people from our local community, we’d love to have you with us.

Whether you can help once a week or four times a week, any days are truly appreciated. Your time makes a real difference for families right here at home.
