Ridge Meadows Doula Services
Providing Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula support, childbirth classes, sleep education and more
We remember our births and how nervous we were and how we didn’t have enough time to read EVERY book (and what were the “right” books?).”
Our clients told us that they thought there would be a lot of chaos in the hospital and found that having our doulas present helped them keep calm. We spend time helping birthing people feel more confident and comfortable birthing at home and especially at the

Every baby photo has a story… apparently ours led to birth rooms, middle-of-the-night labour calls, and a whole lot of babies.

Today is International Women’s Day, and this photo felt a little too perfect not to share.
Standing in front of a sign that says “I’ll be there for you…” we couldn’t help but smile because that line captures the heart of birth work.
Being a doula means showing up.
In the middle of the night.
Through uncertainty, strength, tears, laughter, and the incredible moments that change families forever.
At Ridge Meadows Doula Services, we are honoured to support women and birthing people, and the partners and families who love them — in all the beautiful ways families are created.
Today we celebrate the strength, resilience, compassion, and wisdom of women everywhere including the women on our team, the women we support, and the women raising the next generation.
And to every family we’ve walked beside:
When labour begins,
when the rain starts to pour,
when the newborn days are tender…
We’ll be there for you.

Same doula
Same house
Same sling
Same family
Different baby.
We feel so honoured that families continued to hire us for subsequent babies time and time again.

Just read the NYT piece on feeding and “equality,” and here’s my hot take: bottles don’t create equality partners doing actual work does.
Breastfeeding isn’t the barrier. Unsupported breastfeeding is. When partners think their role is to watch, weigh in, or “help” occasionally, of course it feels unequal.
Breastfeeding thrives when partners are in it doing diapers, dishes, meals, laundry, mental load, and fiercely protecting rest. That’s what shared parenting looks like. My take from the article was the author didn’t feel supported in her first postpartum.
Feed babies however works for your family but equality isn’t found in the bottle. It’s found in who shows up and does the work. 🎤⬇️🔥

Whether you’re breastfeeding, combo feeding, pumping, chestfeeding, or simply figuring out what works best for your family, LLL Maple Ridge is a place to:
✨ Learn evidence-based feeding information

🎉 Happy Birthday, Dawn! 🎉
Today we’re celebrating one of our absolute gems at Ridge Meadows Doula Services.
Dawn is a passionate birth and postpartum doula with the brain of an engineer, a deep understanding of neurodivergent clients, and a genuine love of reading new birth research for fun. She’s thoughtful, analytical, and fiercely committed to informed, evidence-based care.
And somehow, beyond all that? She also bakes and makes fresh bread, rides her bike everywhere, and serves her community as a Scouts volunteer because being impressive is clearly her baseline.
We’re so grateful for the care, heart, and brilliance she brings to our team and the families we serve.
Join us in wishing Dawn the happiest of birthdays!

Does your family do elf on the shelf? When my daughter was young, we started this tradition. We adapted some of the “rules” and made an our own. Now with a nearly 16-year-old, our elf lemon, still pops by every year.
Feel free to share your elf ideas below.
elf on a shelf I caved this year- Elf on the Shelf December 8, 2013 Over the last few years I’ve seen Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram be polluted from photos of a little red elf hiding in homes and making messes. Up until this year I was not interested in A) cleaning up after the little thing B) remem...
