Car accidents are a common occurrence that can have a significant impact on a person's physical and mental health. Even a minor accident can cause injuries that may not be apparent at first but can manifest later. Chiropractic care can be an effective treatment for car accident injuries.
Whiplash is one of the most common injuries that people sustain in car accidents. It is caused by the sudden forward and backward movement of the head, which can strain the neck muscles and ligaments. Symptoms of whiplash can include neck pain, headaches, dizziness, and shoulder pain. Chiropractors can help treat whiplash by using spinal adjustments to help realign the spine and reduce muscle tension.
Back injuries are also common in car accidents, especially if the impact was severe. Herniated discs, fractured vertebrae, and spinal cord injuries can all occur. Chiropractic care can help alleviate the pain and promote healing by using spinal adjustments, massage therapy, and other techniques.
It is important to seek chiropractic care as soon as possible after a car accident, even if you don't feel any immediate pain or discomfort. Delaying treatment can worsen injuries and lead to long-term complications. In addition, chiropractors can document your injuries and provide evidence that can be used in insurance claims or legal proceedings.
If you have been in a car accident, it is important to prioritize your health and seek treatment. We can help you recover from your injuries and prevent future complications. With the right care and attention, you can get back to feeling like yourself again.
Attention
As required by the Provincial Health Officer and the College of Chiropractors of BC, during the COVID-19 pandemic, chiropractors can only treat patient’s in-person when providing “emergent, urgent and/or essential care.”
You must schedule an appointment for in-person treatment. Unscheduled, drop-in treatment is not permitted.
Before you can schedule in-person treatment, you must be interviewed by Dr. Chauhan to confirm whether you require “emergent, urgent and/or essential care” and to assess your risk for COVID-19 infection.
Dr. Chauhan will interview you over the phone. You cannot be interviewed in person. To schedule an interview, please call our office at 604-465-3040.
At this time we are still open for urgent care. We have adopted strict physical distancing protocols. If care is required we will be wearing the appropriate personal protective equipment. We will also be offering telehealth and telerehabilitation appointments starting this week. You can call the office for details.
Due to the evolving situation concerning Covid-19 we have made some changes at the office. We are still open at this time. We recommend patients arrive as close to their appointment time as possible... not early and not late. Upon arrival you will be directed into a treatment room to minimize contact with others. We have also spaced out appointments to again minimize contact with others. When leaving we recommend that you keep a safe distance from others when rebooking if there is someone at the front desk. We strongly suggest that rebook your appointment if you any undiagnosed respiratory symptoms. Please review the bccdc website for other recommendations during this outbreak. I can personally reached at [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Dr. Paul Chauhan
