Big news! β˜•οΈβœ¨

We are incredibly honoured to be selected as a recipient of The Starbucks Foundation Neighborhood Grants.

We are deeply grateful to the Starbucks partners (employees) in our community for recognizing and supporting the work we do.

This generous grant will help us continue providing compassionate, comprehensive support for people working to overcome addiction, rebuild healthy and stable lives, and strengthen connections with family, friends, and the community. Through our programs and services, people can access housing, addiction treatment, counselling, food security, and other supports that build stability, encourage recovery, and create lasting change.

Thank you to The Starbucks Foundation and our local Starbucks partners for investing in our mission and believing in the people we serve. Your support is helping create brighter futures and stronger communities, and we are truly grateful. πŸ’š

Today we had the pleasure of partnering with HearCANADA to host a hearing clinic at Fraser Valley Addictions and Recovery Hub.πŸ‘‚πŸ’™

Many of our patients had the opportunity to receive free hearing screenings, ask questions about their hearing health, and connect with resources to help them access hearing aids.

Thank you to HearCanada for taking the time to visit our clinic. πŸ’™ Partnerships like these help make hearing and hearing health more accessible for our community.

Today, we explore the quote, β€œLife can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.” by SΓΈren Kierkegaard.

Recovery is a process of personal growth where meaning may not always be fully available while you are in it. In many moments, you are simply living through what feels unclear, learning as you go without being able to see how it all connects yet. Over time, those experiences begin to form a pattern that only becomes visible in hindsight, where you can recognize how each stage of change contributed to your growth in ways that were not obvious in the moment. Recovery asks you to keep moving forward even without full clarity, trusting that understanding develops gradually as experience turns into insight and insight turns into a deeper sense of self.

If you are in a moment where things feel uncertain, come back to this quote when you need to remember that clarity often arrives later, when you are able to look back and see how far you have come.

Myths about addiction and recovery contribute to stigma.

Misunderstandings about opioid addiction are common, but these myths can make it more difficult for people to seek support when they need it most.

Addiction is a complex health condition that can affect anyone. By sharing accurate information and challenging common misconceptions, we can help reduce stigma and create a community where individuals feel supported, safe, and welcome.

Recovery is possible, and no one should have to face it alone. At Fraser Valley Addictions and Recovery Hub, we’re here to support you when you’re ready. πŸ’™
