We had an early birthday party for me so we could celebrate before my sister moved to Calgary. I couldn't decide which cake to make, so I made them all! Chocolate-hazelnut, peanut butter mousse, and vanilla chiffon with raspberry whipped cream.

Homemade vanilla bean paste using the whole bean. It improves with a month on the shelf, but already tastes pretty lovely!

My Dad gifted us some tenderloin steaks. Since they are a buttery, but not deeply flavorful cut, I decided to try making some bérnaise sauce to go on top (so good!). Scalloped poatoes with leeks and green beans on the side.
