The Lorette Métis Local represents Red River Métis Citizens of Lorette and surrounding areas. The Lorette Metis Local is part of the Southeast Region.

The Lorette Metis Local represents members of the Manitoba Metis Federation's Lorette Local. The Manitoba Metis Federation consists of seven Regions throughout the Province, with each of those Regions being divided into community Locals (in fact, some of the Locals predate the Federation!).

Applications are open for Mining Readiness and Mining Fundamentals at Hudbay, a hands-on training opportunity for Citizens interested in starting a career in mining.

Offered in partnership with Hudbay Manitoba, NORCAT, Northern Manitoba Sector Council, and University College of the North, Mining Readiness training takes place in Flin Flon from October 13 to November 6, followed by Mining Fundamentals in Snow Lake from November 11 to December 15.

The MMF's Energy, Infrastructure & Resource Management Department is inviting Citizens to join us for an exciting opportunity to explore the completed remediation work at the Central Mine in Nopiming Provincial Park on September 1, 2026!

Participants will take part in an outdoor tour of the completed remediation site, learning about the history of Central Mine and the remediation process! Sturdy outdoor footwear, such as hiking shoes or sturdy runners, is recommended. The tour will take place over uneven terrain, with slopes, rocky surfaces, and varying ground conditions. Lunch will be provided for all participants.

Our Energy, Infrastructure and Resource Management Department is inviting Citizens to Pinawa Dam Provincial Park on August 26 & 27, 2026 to participate in activities focused on wild rice and the waterways where it naturally grows!
