Rust can often render an otherwise perfectly serviceable car unsafe to drive. The majority of cars we send to the scrap yard are due to significant rust damage. This 25 year old Jetta was an excellent candidate for some rust repair work by our talented team as it was still generally structurally and mechanically sound. We spent a lot of time and fabricated the sheet metal pieces from scratch and then welded them in. We didn’t paint the entire car as the costs are prohibitive but we got the paint matched well and have given this great car a new lease on life. New cars are so expensive nowadays, it made sense to extend the life of this one. It always feels good to save another car from that big parking lot in the sky!

It’s Small Business Week across Canada! We’re spotlighting our 2025 Business Excellence Award nominees. Join us each day as we unveil a new nominee and share their story. Today, we’re raising a glass to Toboggan Brewing Co. and Mike Smith! Their name isn’t just a fun nod to Canadiana, it’s a tip of the toque to London’s past. In the late 1800s, our city was a tobogganing hotspot, with ramps stretching across the Forest City including one near where Toboggan stands today! Carrying on that same spirit of fun and community, Toboggan has become a downtown favourite for great food, craft beer, and live events that bring people together. Yesterday we had the pleasure of servicing this family heirloom 1957 Ford Thunderbird. This is a lovely car that was restored sometime in the last century but still shows really well. The autumn is truly here so get out and drive your classic as much as you still can!

This lovely little MGA has spent a few months with us having a complete mechanical rebuild. This car was purchased by the current owners in the early 1960s as a late model used car. Life gets busy and cars sometimes get parked and sidelined. That happened to this car over 30 years ago. Our veteran technician Dan spent much of this summer repairing the wiring, fuel, brake, suspension systems and rebuilding the engine in this little gem. We are really happy with how it runs and works now and hope our clients get much enjoyment out of the fall driving season.

We’ve had the pleasure of repairing this 1979 GMC pickup this year for our customer Alex. This is a really neat truck as it’s a survivor that’s lived in 46+ years in Ontario. On the surface it didn’t seem to be in terrible condition but years of salt and hard work left lots of hidden rust. The pictures give a glimpse into the level of work that went into repairing this old gem and ensuring it will give many more years of service. We are always happy to save another squarebody from the ravages of time!
